Mill was one of the first deck archetypes that interested me. I first started playing Magic the Gathering in the middle of the Alara block, specifically around the Duel Deck: Divine vs. Demonic release and had a petty mono-black deck at the time (Now this set is amazing). During this time, one of my friends used a Mind Funeral + Nemesis of Reason on me, this was my introduction to mill and I have been slowly building this deck ever since.

I feel as though mill is short about 1 card from being exceptional.

I have replaced thoughtscour with Remand though I have not yet play tested this.

GeminiSpartanX suggested Darkness

Best Modern Mill: Ashiok's Grinding Blitz has been a helpful resource, all though my deck is not based off of HeroFallenVillain's deck we have come to very similar setups. The use of Damnation and adding a third Snapcaster Mage came from his deck.

Any advice that can be offered is appreciated as well as +1s!

Comments Cleared, updating the decklist to match the list I used.

I was able to get a more accurate look at the meta tonight. Here is what I've seen being run:

R/W/B Burn, Grixis Delver, Grixis Twin, Jund, Bogles, UW Gifts, Green Tron, Blue Tron, Merfolk, Elves

All very close matches, outplayed opponent.

Game 1: Lose: Lords + Island walk

Game 2: Darkness brought in.

Game 3: Profane Memento brought in, was about to die, drew 2 of these + Glimpse the Unthinkable gained 14 life.

Game 1: Too fast needed sideboard.

Game 2: perfect opening hand, opponent mulligans to 4 begins the game with Leyline of Sanctity of which there was 1 in his deck.

Game 1: Surgical Extraction was used in the the tron lands which after a mill left him with a total of 6 lands in his library. I stopped milling him so Emrakul, the Aeons Torn would't cycle his graveyard. Ghost Quartered 2 of his lands he was left with 5 mana to play his entire deck. Used Breaking / Entering to cast opponent's milled Wurmcoil Engine.

Game 2: Concession

Remand Delay and draw

Surgical Extraction Remove all copies

Inquisition of Kozilek Picks apart threats and counters

Darkness Awesome Anti-aggro/creature damage

Profane Memento This really hurts aggro decks even with 1 out after milling 8 you gain ~5 life which often buys you an entire turn to mill more cards and gain more life.

Thought Scour Never drew or used one, sideboarded every single match

Cryptic Command Too Hard to cast? Never used was always to mana intensive as a sideboard.

Hurkyl's Recall No affinity in meta right now.

Cyclonic Rift Only time i needed it to remove an enchant I had Iona, Shield of Emeria with blue chosen played on me.
