Piston Sledge

Artifact — Equipment

When Piston Sledge enters the battlefield, attach it to target creature you control. Equipped creature gets +3/+1. Equip - Sacrifice an artifact.

You're correct. Kazuul's Toll Collector can attach Equipment to itself without using the equip ability. Even if the equip isn't a mana cost (like Piston Sledge) you can still attach it for with the Toll Collector's ability. This DOES NOT count as activating an equip cost or equipping an Equipment, but it does count as the Toll Collector "becoming equipped" or the Equipment "becoming attached."

Yo... Piston Sledge? What’s sad is I did know it existed, haha. I was researching for another list and found it... I had decided that I wanted to give Skullclamp a go here (it’s great, pending a “Sacrifice” outlet). So I slotted in Stoneforge Mystic; but I didn’t want just one Equipment to Tutor for. Then I remembered the Sledge. It has been a BOON to every game I’ve had it. Finally, another easily Tutored place of Worship? I feel a fool for not running it before. It enables every Answer(?) in the list, makes Teshar a 5/3 beater (he has always needed a buff) and at 3cmc with an auto-Equip? Must include to the Deck. Is it worth running more Tutors, such as Steelshaper's Gift or Open the Armory? Honestly, can’t say yet. Mystic has been enough and those two pieces of Equipment are now essentials. I personally hated Skull’s dependence on another “Sac” outlet to work - as there are few Targets for it with < 2 Defense in this Deck - but it works well in combo and can be used to setup for success.

Since you seem to be going the Voltron route I'll suggest an incredibly unsuspecting, yet absolutely dumb card for you: Blackblade Reforged . This card scales HARD in the mid-late game, and since you're going to be equipping it to Traxos 99% of the time it'll cost 3 generic mana to equip. As for what you would cut... Ghostfire Blade ? Piston Sledge ? I don't know. That's up to you. But, yeah, thought I would just drop some knowledge for you.

I also made a Traxos deck and it's one of my favorite decks to play! You can find it on my page if you want some ideas.

Some cards that I would recommend are

Hope this helps!

Nice deck! I also have a Traxos deck that I've had a lot of fun playing.

Some cards I would suggest are Meekstone . It's very powerful, and there is nothing funnier than casting Meekstone and untapping your own Traxos haha.

Infiltration Lens for the card draw.

Crucible of Worlds is good with your sac-lands.

Ichor Wellspring and Mycosynth Wellspring are fun little cantrips. Can also work well with a Piston Sledge .

Accorder's Shield and/or Cathar's Shield can help keep Traxos untapped.

Piston Sledge and Infiltration Lens could also be fun in this deck

I've also brewed a fun Traxos group if you want some ideas. I've had a lot of fun playing Traxos, Scourge of the Casual Playgroup.

Cards I would recommend are Meekstone is oppressive and very powerful. Mycosynth Wellspring and Ichor Wellspring are fun little cantrips in the early game, awesome sac targets in the later game. Some fun equipment to consider are Accorder's Shield and Piston Sledge (an additional sac outlet) and Surestrike Trident and Golem-Skin Gauntlets and Infiltration Lens .

I know this page isn't up to date but here's what I'd do:

I would add Mind's Eye 100%. I think a Sun Titan and Armageddon would be worth it. The expensive Equipment cards become better with more focus, like Puresteel Paladin. I'm not sold on Leonin Shikari for such a creature-light deck.

Speaking of which, Relic Seeker might be worth it to quickly get the boots or Hammer of Nazahn or something.

Maybe swap Disenchant with Forsake the Worldly in case you need the draw? Return to Dust is the obvious upgrade. Duelist's Heritage is nice because it isn't an aura and has funny political value on other peoples' turns.

I'm thinking that you should perhaps plan on a more late-game strategy--i.e. more expensive Equipments with bigger bonuses. Seems that the quick win is only viable in 1v1. Perhaps you may want to keep the deck 1v1 only?

I might add Prowler's Helm, Blackblade Reforged, Darksteel Plate (cheaper than ever--I don't think you can get enough Indestructible), maybe a Basilisk Collar or Quietus Spike.

I would say drop Armored Ascension, Ethereal Armor (maybe), Serra's Embrace, Unquestioned Authority, Mesa Enchantress, Umbra Mystic, Helm of the Gods. That should open up room for more artifact synergy or more interaction (removal). I'm not sold on Piston Sledge, Hero's Blade, Vorrac Battlehorns, Tenza, Godo's Maul, Ring of Thune.
