Intrepid Paleontologist

Creature — Human Druid

: Add one mana of any color.

: Exile target card from a graveyard.

You may cast Dinosaur creature spells from among cards you own exiled with Intrepid Paleontologist. If you cast a spell this way, that creature enters the battlefield with a finality counter on it. (If a creature with a finality counter on it would die, exile it instead.) (This is a linked ability, linked to the ability in the second paragraph on this card. You may only cast a Dinosaur spell if that card was exiled via the ability in the second paragraph.)

I'm not sure what you mean in regards to "I like the flexibility those provide over Worldly Tutor." This is how I envision it's use: Turn: You start by attacking with Gishath targeting an opponent with a weak board state. No blocks declared and combat damage is assigned. Gishath's triggered ability hits the stack, in response you cast Worldly Tutor placing Etali, Primal Conqueror  Flip to the top of your library. Worldly Tutor resolves, and Gishath has a guaranteed hit at the start of it's triggered ability resolving. Unfortunately you'd have to telegraph your moves with Sylvan Tutor as it's a Sorcery. You'd just cast it before you go to combat. The flexibility here comes in the fact that you also can just use said spells to help your early game as well getting access to Intrepid Paleontologist or Selvala, Heart of the Wilds. I suggest you revisit Worldly Tutor and Sylvan Tutor - perhaps proxy them in for a game or two and see what happens.

My bad about Terror of the Peaks. I could swear I saw you wrote on a comment that you had removed it.

As your deck is currently built, Enduring Vitality does almost nothing. The cheapest creature you have is Coiling Oracle. Dryad of the Ilysian Grove is still better. Yes, it does make Wandering Mind very slightly worse, but the entire decks just gets better. Again, you don't need to care about basic land types. Having all lands have basic land types just means they tap for all colors and, if you copy it, you get two additional land drops every turn. This highlights another things you should work on.

You seem really focusing on trying to maximise everyone single bit of synergy between cards and sometimes overlook the benefits other cards can bring to your deck. Marauding Raptor is debatle because it can kill your own creatures and copying it might no be the best. Instead, you focused on not having enough dinosaurs, which is the irrelevant part of the card. If you look at MTGtop8, you'll see thay it's used in some dinosaur decks, but quite a few other decks without dinosaurs also use it. Same goes for Intrepid Paleontologist. I have a Nethroi, Apex of Death without a single dinosaur. In that deck, it just works as a mana dork that's also graveyard hate. Think of it as Scavenging Ooze thar also generates mana.

Heroic Intervention is one of those cards that is good to have redundancy. If you copy it, then opponents will need to counter it twice to interact with your board.

Kazierts, this deck does not have a strong focus on dinosaurs, so I am not certain about Marauding Raptor or Intrepid Paleontologist.

I definitely considered putting Dryad of the Ilysian Grove into this deck, but this deck has very few, if any, cards that care about basic land types, and I also need to be careful about putting too many creatures into this deck, since each additional creature is one fewer card that shall synergize with Wandering Mind.

This deck already contains a copy of Terror of the Peaks, and I have no problem with removing Ionize, so what would you recommend as a replacement, for it? I do need to keep at least several counterspells, in this deck, as it is a blue deck.

Before I make any proper recommendations, you should stop worrying so much about the average CMC. Yes, having a lower curve is better (usually), but you take note of every little change, and that's not gonna help you build a better deck.

Onto the recommendations themselves:

Grends27 - Thanks for your thoughts on my deck so I wanted to repay the favor! Disclaimer, looking at your decklist, I am assuming more of a budget build so I will take that into account.

So first off, I like the high creature count of the deck. Similar to my deck, I think I counted 8 creatures that are not dinos that will not hit with Gishath. Most of the non-dino creatures in my deck are there for utility/ramp purposes and seems like yours are filling similar roles. Personally, I am a little underwhelmed by Ilysian Caryatid, Llanowar Elves, and Ixalli's Lorekeeper and try to avoid anything with toughless less than 3 due to Marauding Raptor. I would encourage you to try out Kinjalli's Caller, Shaman of Forgotten Ways, and Intrepid Paleontologist as they provide a similar role but usually have something more than just adding mana/acceleration to the deck. You really need to consider Forerunner of the Empire. The tutor effect is great by itself but the ability to trigger your Enrage dinos is very powerful. Plus with the abundancy of 1/1 tokens in EDH, this is a board wipe for any creatures weaker than say 2 toughness. He is another great utility creature for dinosaur decks!

I like the dinos you included. I know I said I would suggest budget but Trapjaw Tyrant and Silverclad Ferocidons do work. Especially when you have the ability to trigger their Enrage ability multiple times per turn!

Your land count is very similar to mine, I did not count up all the ways you have to ramp up but see a lot of ways to do that via creatures, artifacts, sorceries, instants, etc. I was going to try adding Poetic Ingenuity into my deck as a way to add some additional treasure tokens in the early turns via swinging with smaller dinos to generate mana to cast Gishath. Can not suggest it 100% without trying it but I love the idea of it!

On the enchantment/artifact side, the only thing I would really suggest is adding Strionic Resonator. Similar to me, you are running enough triggered effects that this card will win you games. A good drop for it would be Descendants' Path. I ran that for a while and was just not impressed with the results. Maybe Aggravated Assault if you would like to swing multiple times...combos well with the Poetic Ingenuity!

FOr the Instants/Sorceries, my only suggestion is that with how common boardwipes and interactions are in EDH, I would suggest more single/mass protection. Flawless Maneuver is not to expensive and can be cast for free if Gishath is out. Clever Concealment is nice for those pesky mass exile spells as you can just phase out your creatures and if your deck is firing on all cylinders and you have a board presence, you can usually cast it for free as well!

Otherwise, looks pretty solid! You can tell you have a plan...cast Gishath quick...swing hard...raid dinos...repeat.
