In: Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate (a solid recursion option), Ali from Cairo (this is a ripcord to pull when you're looking at lethal, I've found myself in this position a few times and since this deck is very good at dialing up answers, I've slotted good 'ol Ali into the deck, Callous Bloodmage (this is a needed answer for decks that also rely on graveyard recursion), Carrion Feeder (I needed a creature based sac-oulet, which would be easier to tutor and would allow infinite combos), Dolmen Gate (chose over Legion's Initiative and Reconnaissance -both of which I love and are good alternatives -I'm testing out the gate to see which one I like more), Goblin Bombardment (free sac outlet, can go infinite), Pinnacle Monk  Flip (back into the main and out from the maybe; the one game I didn't have it I found the game stretching with lots of juicy targets accumulating in the graveyard and no way to get them back; I like options), Swamp (up to 5 total, better hitting land drops), Viscera Seer (another more optimal free sac-outlet).

Out: Aether Vial (I love this card and it's done good work mid-game, but I think there is better value), Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit (I decided to remove the infinite combo with Murderous Redcap for more resiliency and interaction potential), Baton of Morale (I really want to showcase the power of banding and think this could be a good way to direct damage to the creatures you want to die/recur, but am testing Dolmen Gate as an alternative way to do it), Cauldron of Souls (good for ETB recursion and wraths but I wanted to bring down the CMC, tough call), Claws of Gix (replaced for better options), Denethor, Ruling Steward (better options), Legion's Initiative (I love this card and it lets me get an extra ETB trigger, but am trying Dolmen Gate as an alternative), Murderous Redcap (took out the infinite damage trigger with Anafeza), Sword of Light and Shadow (I really like swords, but felt there are better options).

StarRushford skirmishes enter under your opponents control, and have ways to remove defense counters from it. I prefer it flipping into an instant or sorcery. Flipping into lands feels too much like lci.

Can I name a non-legend that feels like a legend from legends? Ali from Cairo

Make a green white villainous planeswalker without elesh norn Or vorinclex in the name.

Also, saying Phoenix bird in the type line makes me think back to the days of cards like: summon Ali from Cairo. Speaking of which, I feel like they should errata him to make him a legend.

Aladdin in particular is kind of pre-legendary, I think it would have been made Legendary today, probably along with King Suleiman and Ali from Cairo (although I'm sure more than one person in Cairo is named Ali).

Cevraya shows up in several flavor texts like Slime Molding, but doesn't seem to be developed as a character--maybe Glowspore Shaman?

There's at least two different people named Ennor on different planes, but one of them became a ghoul. I suspect the second Ennor means that the first Ennor won't get a card, despite having a simple storyline.

Outside of flavor texts, how many Worldslayers or Pearl Lake Ancients are there? No particular story reason to make them legendary, but a single lake can hold only so many giant monsters, and who makes more than one apocalypse sword?

Ali from Cairo and Fortune Thief are both solid cards (and so is the modern staple Worship), so I will add them. Thanks!

Smoke, however, is actually a stax card, and so it, and other cards like it such as Meekstone, don't fit too well on this list.

Some of those lists won't be budget, broski lol. I mean, I suppose you can come close to budget...

I remember playing a / deck that used a ton of mana dorks like Llanowar Elves, Tinder Wall, and so forth that ramped into Force of Nature and Shivan Dragon. I had Lightning Bolt and Fireball in there too. I also played a / Tempo/Control build that used burn spells, Prodigal Sorcerer, Counterspell, Force of Will, Forbid, etc. It was a Delver deck before Delver! I also played a straight up burn deck with Jackal Pup, Ball Lightning, Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, etc.

I had a friend of mine that played a mean / control deck that used discard like Hymn to Tourach, Hypnotic Specter, and counter magic. I had another friend that played a / control deck of sorts that ran Ali from Cairo, Forcefield, Mishra's Factory, burn spells, and counter magic.

White weenie was popular back then with Meekstone, Savannah Lions, etc. That'd be a neat budget deck. Elves was also very good back then.

I hope this gives you some ideas, mate!
