This deck is centered around Athreos, God of Passage's triggered ability. It features a bevy of 1-drop creatures, most with the ability to sacrifice themselves to affect other actions. Similarly, they act as chump blockers that can then be sacrificed after blocking. My opponent then has to decide whether to take three damage or give the cheap card back to my hand. In addition, each time I drop one of these cheap bastards Genesis Chamber spits out a Myr token. If Auriok Champion and/or Blood Artist are on the battlefield the 1-drops and tokens feed me life. The next piece is the inclusion of Quest for the Gravelord. With the constant dying of creatures counters will be plenty for the Gravelord, yielding very easy 5/5 Demon Giant Tokens. Most opponents will have a hard time deciding the balance between paying life to keep creatures out of my hand and blocking the swarm of weenies.Specifically, Burrenton Forge-Tender is in to block Anger of the Gods and Lightning Bolt. Fulminator Mage is in to help with Inkmoth Nexus and TRON. Children of Korlis restores health against decks that don't swing 20+ damage. Judge's Familiar is quite helpful, especially on turn one or two against Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek. Blood Artist and Auriok Champion are both triggered by tokens as well.

On the Sideboard:Grafdigger's Cage is graveyard hate that stops Dredge without stopping my Athreos ability. Leyline of Sanctity is included for Burn & Liliana of the Veil's second ability, which seems to slap me in the face often. Pithing Needle is my favorite card. It is so flexible. It hits all Planeswalkers, many of the more troublesome cards that make my deck cry. Eldrazi Monument is included for decks that swing flyers and sideboard in board wipes. Finally, for matches that aren't super fast, Sundering Growth lets me bring in enchantment and artifact hate, which I most assuredly will see Rest in Peace and few others get sideboarded in...while at the same time giving me another copy or two of the 5/5 Demon Giant.
