I tested the deck at FMN last week and felt really good about where it's going. I do feel like taking advantage of splashing red helped with win conditions. For example, I maindecked 1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance and it really helped fuel my Banefire late game. Approach of the Second Sun won me 2 games so it's still a great win con against creature based decks. I did play against an Esper control deck, and it was my toughest match. I didn't quite know how to sideboard or play against it. They sideboarded in Chromium, the Mutable and I couldn't get it off the board.

I've decided to lean into red more and fix my mana base so I can consistently hit an open red mana on turn one to take advantage of my Magma Spray before getting into my counter package. I've included one copy of Ipnu Rivulet to help mill myself once I have an Approach of the Second Sun in play. I'm also increasing my planeswalkers to 3 Teferi, Hero of Dominaria and 2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance. I didn't use my Seal Away or Cast Out much, so I'm taking some of those out. I'll still have sweepers to take care of Chromium, the Mutable and then Commit in the sideboard for Banefire

I also want to have a sideboard surprise/spice with Nicol Bolas, the Ravager  . I feel like I can use him as a late game threat where I can Aether Hub it into play then have 7 mana to flip him. He's more vulnerable at 4 toughness, but I feel like I can keep him on the board with a counterspell if need be. Has anyone tried this with a Jeskai build?

Taking the base UW Control shell and splashing red for burn. This deck has cards that will rotate out in the fall. Win conditions are Teferi, Hero of Dominaria, Torrential Gearhulk, Banefire and Approach of the Second Sun.

• Thoughts on how to make it work post-rotation when Guild of Ravinca come out.

• Sideboard options for current Standard meta?
