skoobysnackz Deckling

Hi everyone I'm skoobysnackz, I've been playing magic for a couple years now mostly in Modern but a bit in commander too. I like to play control decks most, but I also really enjoy combo gimmicky decks with a lot of flavor. My favorite colors are Esper (), Sultai(), and Grixis () because of their powerful control spells and awesome interactions. I also really like the blance that Temur() decks offer with big creatures and good protection. My favorite creatures are The Gitrog Monster, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, and Dragonlord Ojutai, my favorite planeswalker is Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker and Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh , my favorite land is Dark Depths, and my favorite artwork is Hokori, Dust Drinker , wish it were more playable in modern. Although I can appreciate a well thought out aggro deck, I can't stand when people just copy a deck they found somewhere online (like that Treasure Hunt + Zombie Infestation combo or Devoted Druid + Quillspike ). To me, a well planned out turn 20 win is much more satisfying than any turn 2-3 win. If you like any of my decks please leave a comment or a +1, and if you have any advice or suggestions definitely let me know. The last thing I'd like to say is if you like a deck (any deck, not just mine) enough to put it in a folder or to comment "nice deck", just give it an upvote. It doesn't cost you anything and it shows that the deck is appreciated.

Not too great hahaha, but that's why there's Spellskite in the sideboard. Still not a great matchup, but it makes it better at least.

Thanks a lot benjameenbear7! I usually try to make decks based on flavor, but that can also be somewhat competitive in casual play, so thanks for the encouragement!

@The_Squirrel Thanks a lot for your suggestions, you've given me a lot to think about. First off, does Grapeshot (most commonly used storm card) deal combat damage? I thought it was only creatures that could deal combat damage during combat, or when a card says two creatures fight each other. If not then unfortunately the two fog spells won't help with dealing with storm or Walking Ballista's third ability. Since this deck runs black I have already considered Fatal Push and I didn't think it was right for this deck, at least not as a 4 of, but I will consider it. I think your point about Creeping Tar Pit is spot on, and it will go in the board for now. About the chump blocking, I chose these three creatures because they all have a way to deal with that problem: Thing in the Ice  Flip is a board bounce that clears a path for attacking at least for 1 turn, if Chasm Skulker gets really big, an Abrupt Decay, Maelstrom Pulse, Damnation, or opponent's removal spell (if they are that stupid) will allow me to go wide and overwhelm the opponent with numbers, and Consuming Aberration has the mill ability, so I don't even need to attack with him if they are just chump blocking. Temple Bell seems like a good replacement for Rites of Flourishing, but I think Font of Mythos might often be just too difficult to cast at 4 mana. Let me know what you think of all this, I really appreciate all your suggestions!

I had considered Notion Thief when I was coming up with the idea for the deck, but I think the way the deck is set up, he would hurt more than he would help. The goal is to mill my opponent by making them draw a lot of cards every turn that have no effect because I am also drawing all my fog spells. If notion thief is on the board it would be a little counter-intuitive, and I would likely mill myself, or draw too many fog spells that I don't need. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Maybe consider taking something else out for Mirari's Wake? The +1/+1 effect could possibly help you close out the game without having to find other finishers. If you don't want to go down that road, I would suggest Rampaging Baloths and Avenger of Zendikar as they have some good synergies with Karametra, God of Harvests. Lastly, Woodland Bellower seems like a nice fit in this deck as it can tutor most of your utility creatures directly to the battlefield.

Cool deck! I would play Mirari's Wake over Mana Reflection and maybe consider a few more finishers, but otherwise the list looks good, +1!

Oh, that would be really nasty, thanks NyanNijet! I'll try to work him in, got any suggestions for what to take out?
