Enchantment — Aura

Enchant permanent

When Frenzied Fugue enters the battlefield or at the beginning of your upkeep, gain control of enchanted permanent until end of turn. Untap that permanent. It gains haste until end of turn.

I have been testing competitive Godo a lot recently. Since testing this list out I have been missing my copy spells like Fork. There are few better feelings than that of casting Fork to copy an Ad Nauseam.

Personally, I feel that Dualcaster Mage is a little too versatile to cut. At a minimal impact it's functionally a counterspell that you can tutor for with Imperial Recruiter. The upside is that it incidentally allows you to combo off with Twinflame, even in games where Helm of the Host has been exiled or an opponent has made casting Godo, Bandit Warlord or tutoring impossible.

At least one person was asking about Frenzied Fugue. This card is the truth! The card wins games that feel impossible otherwise. I've gained control of an opponent's Necropotence recently (and won the following turn). It can even bypass potential blockers with indestructible or help you to cast godo through stax pieces such as Aven Mindcensor or Drannith Magistrate.

That kind of wall of text is what I was hoping to avoid. As Wolfsbane706 concisely states -- with the inclusion of punishment cards. It feels that the most competitive philosophies don't include this wider spectrum of interaction, only the most efficient of 1:1 removals or boardwipes (direct interaction)... Now where this Turn0 philosophy gets shot is with more midrange, responsive, & indirect interaction. I've seen several Marchesa decks beat Turn2 decks.... but they are built in this fluid, response-based way such that you could call them "competitive" but you can't really put them in a TurnXYZ class.

I've heard it verbatim so many times: "that card won't help you win" - "I don't like playing with people who don't play to win" just because it is indirect or relies on politics... or the rest of the deck, then I somehow end up winning. Goofy stuff like: Evolutionary Escalation, Oath of Druids, Captive Audience, Frenzied Fugue. Several of which are either exchange-based or cause a cascade of indirect interaction. All cards with Panache. In response to your competitive Force of Will I will yawn. "Competitive" or "win-now" decks certainly have "interaction" but it is so narrow in scope compared to what the game has to offer. The challenge lies in being a champion of the pet cards & still managing to beat high-end, narrow interactions. & DrukenReaps you aren't wrong, I am a little dismissive of those 2 interactions, probably because I do tend to get-wrecked by the same darn suite of cards - but I just look at that as a challenge to be overcome :) - without "doing as the Romans do" to overcome them.

Gidgetimer - condescension is a response to feeling patronized -- Being told that a narrow host of interactions is how the game works, then having how the game works explained to me. Then being asked to go on a defensive with a list of cards.

Wall of text not avoided.

Since goblins are very raider-ish and thanks to Ixalan are ACTUAL pirates (Or... pirate-adjacent?), I've elected to put in a "Steal your stuff, use it against you, then blow it up so you can't get it back" subtheme. Cards like Threaten , Harness by Force , Hijack , Frenzied Fugue , Traitorous Blood , Besmirch , Mark of Mutiny , etc. add some awesome flavour to the deck and sort of adds an element of flexibility and chaos that comes with always having different toys to play with depending on the decks you're playing against.

That, and the fact you can use them on your own Krenko to abuse his activated ability by untapping with him multiple times a turn! Kari Zev's Expertise is an amazing effect, because it lets you cast another 2cmc threaten effect from your hand for free, making even MORE goblins!

That's my take anyway. It also feels very goblin like to steal someone's toys, beat them over the head with them and then blow them up after they're done.

Jitte tested ok. If most of your opponents are using creature based combos or wincons, it might well be worth it. 4 counters a trun is quite strong with how small most creatures are in cEDH.

Still testing the God-Pharaoh's Statue, and also looking at testing Frenzied Fugue , and Conqueror's Flail , the first of which gives us some nice options against 1 sided stax effects, and the Flail is a lot better now than when previously tested, due to the higher density of creatures in the deck.

Good answer! That is how Thantis friends goes for me. Walkers can be used as Thantis grow-bait & a life total cushion in a deck that doesn't always have a lot of life to work with, I've done it many times. Any walker that serves as a dork/mana source has been pretty good for me, Domri, Chaos Bringer has been surprisingly good (I have more chaosy midrange critters though). New Domri Domri, Anarch of Bolas is very exciting to me, ramp, no-counter for the turn, & removal? Frenzied Fugue has let me borrow & return or ult. other people's planeswalkers countless times, it can be fun to pass someone's Windgrace back & forth. Otherwise you have most of the good redsplash walkers that those overabundant Atraxa decks don't have access to. I imagine you are pretty jazzed up for the elderspell?

Don't forget Geth, Lord of the Vault , Word of Seizing , Dragonlord Silumgar ... & my favorite pet-card: Frenzied Fugue - the card with which I either ult. other player's planeswalkers or just keep taking advantage of their (-) ability.

CaptSillva, with Reins of Power , Frenzied Fugue , Dire Fleet Daredevil , I have already explained in the deck description why I don't run them. As for Stolen Identity , I only run a couple clone creatures because they loosely fit the theme and the ones I have chosen are my favourites. Blatant Thievery Is already in the sideboard. I have just added my reasoning for not running Eternal Dominion and Expropriate to the description. Cruel Ultimatum is a good card but that's about it. Doesn't really fit the theme
