Can I copy Frenzied Fugue's effect and choose a new target?

Asked by MoJoMiXuP 7 years ago

Hey all,

I've been brewing with the new Frenzied Fugue and need some direction on if and how it can interact with Strionic Resonator. When Frenzied Fugue enters the battlefield or takes effect during my upkeep, can I copy that with Strionic Resonator and choose a new target with the effect, so long as the second target is also enchanted, or can it only target the same permanent enchated with Frenzied Fugue?

Thanks in advance for your answers

Frenzied Fugue's triggered ability doesn't target anything - a spell or ability only targets when it specifically uses the word "target" - so there aren't any targets to change and when an Aura references an "enchanted permanent" it means specifically the permanent that Aura is attached to, not any permanent with an enchantment on it. Long story short, copying Frenzied Fugue's triggered ability with Strionic Resonator will give you control of the permanent it's attached to again, which would be redundant.

Copying Frenzied Fugue's triggered ability would however give you an additional untapping of the enchanted creature which could be taken advantage of.
