Ok not so much control and burn, but burns and card advantage and some win condition. Based on journey into nyx event deck.
I figure 65 cards is ok for a deck with such high card draw / self exile.
Could take out a divination and a land to go to 63. Then perhaps a thaumaturge and a land to 61?
temporarily adding Gelectrode count from 2 to 3 and also adding an island and another electrolyze, bringing count to 65
...added monastery swiftspear and count is at 66
dominus and a chimera could swap for each other Ravaging blaze could sub for cyclonic rift or epic experiment
... the goggles were a hit. dig through time and howl of the horde also tested, how no good due to the lack of creature attack potential and dig through time too slow in comparison to steam augry. The count was at 67. Exciting and dangerous move - increased count to 69 with a mountain and the goggles. It would make sense to take out epic experiment for goggles. But you know what, how much more izzet does it get than epic experiment? After playtesting ... epic experiment and 1 mountain taken out.
2 izzet decks: 1 for the typical counterspells / red blue syn, the other with no counterspells, early game control via burns, also no electromancers or taurges / no young pyro, biiger emphasis on ral zerke and pyormancers goggles with gelectrode
