big bois with big toys
CARDS I'M CONSIDERING:
Thrun, the Last Troll
— Thrun would serve as a resilient threat against Control and GBx.
Noose Constrictor
— Noose Constrictor would serve to move the deck towards a more combo-oriented role, as well as being another two-drop Evolution target to get Cremator off of (it also goes very well with Cremator being able to discard your hand).
Rekindling Phoenix
— Despite being able to be Path'd, Rekindling Phoenix is actually very strong with Evolution, being able to turn into another four-drop in the deck and would allow for more strength against flying creatures. In decks like Humans, these are a major issue.
Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma
— Goreclaw is more of a pet choice, rather than anything the deck really needs. Being able to give trample to the Cremators is nice, as well as discounting Ghalta heavily, but for the most part it would not provide enough power to the deck.
Treetop Village
— Rather than Raging Ravine, I believe Treetop Village could be another strong consideration for the deck. However, Ravine has proven to be a very useful addition to the deck, as well as the red it produces being often more times than not, whereas Village only producing green may actually hurt the card's usefulness.
IN ROTATION
Huntmaster of the Fells
— Removed to add Stormbreath Dragon to the maindeck. Huntmaster functioned as a late-game powerhouse, but often underperforms against Humans (while overperforming against GBx). With the addition of Stormbreath and Rhonas to the deck, Huntmaster will be taking a leave to see how they perform.
Nullhide Ferox
— Nullhide Ferox was in some of the original builds, but has underperformed occasionally during testing. I've enjoyed it in certain matchups, but the lack of utility it adds to a lot of games, as well as causing the Eldritch Evolutions to take up entire turns, has made me reconsider having him in the deck.
CARDS CURRENTLY IN CONSIDERATION FOR CUTS
Tireless Tracker
— While the Trackers fit very well into this deck on the surface, the Clues can actually be detrimental to the gameplan of discarding with the Cremators, as well as underperforming in testing as an aggressive deck like this struggles when these are answered after only producing a single Clue token. I would love to find an alternative three-drop threat that functions well against midrange decks without being so slow to get going.
