This series of instructional decks are designed to help new players learn the strengths of each color. Each one will discuss two major themes and two major creatures types in that color. This one focuses on colorless, , the color of insanity, decay, and formlessness.

It seems odd to call colorless, the absence of color, a color. But this is a very odd color. It has more artifacts than black, but less synergy (see the black deck below for details). It wins in more unconventional ways than green (see the green deck). If it feels like your mind's slowly being ground to dust by this color, that's because it is. Mill effects, from Millstone, are a specialty of colorless. You lose the game if you try to draw from an empty library, and colorless can use Sands of Delirium and Mesmeric Orb to force you to do exactly that.

While the flavor of milling is that you're slowly being driven insane, the flavor of infect and poison is that your soul is being corrupted and destroyed. When you have ten poison counters, you lose the game. This is a favored tactic of Phyrexians, a faction of interplanar conquerors. Phyrexian Juggernaut and Ichorclaw Myr are perfect examples of the effects of poison. Proliferate pairs perfectly with poison. This ability lets you put additional counters on anything that already has counters, so dissolution happens more quickly.

Shapeshifters and Gargoyles are a couple of key creature types in colorless. They share a theme of being mutable, changing their stats and abilities at a moment's notice. Like all colorless cards, they are unconventional and hard to interact with.

Twisty, weird, erratic: the colorless experience. There's no such thing as a straight fight when this color's around. It wins in ways that no other color can, and defending against it is an exercise in confused frustration. Take the battle to your opponents' minds and spirits, and watch them wither.

Disclaimer: Do not use this deck to teach the game unless you want your learner to be very confused later.
