Tolaria West either comes into play tapped or takes 2 blue and 1 colorless to transmute. It just takes too long I think. I'm trying to speed this deck up as much as possible. I can see edge use cases for it but overall it will probably slow me down more than just a regular Island or fetch land. Gamble is one of those cards I just can't run. I wished the discard wasn't random lol.

More draw?! You are in Izzet. Lots of Wheel effects to choose from.
You will usually have a full hand... Gamble?
Tolaria West agree to disagree. Grabs whatever jewelry you need!

Actually. I think I will add Paradigm Shift and take out Mystic Forge for it.

I cut out as many nonbasic lands as feasible so I could cycle basic lands out faster with fetch lands and deplete the total number of lands in my deck quicker. Tolaria West isn't that helpful. I don't really need any zero cast spells. I put Muddle the Mixture in to help me find Mana Severance faster. Flash enabling cards aren't that useful either. If anything, I want a bit more draw and search. I just don't know what to remove and all of the remaining search cards have huge downsides. I'm trying to run the deck with as few non-artifact cards as possible also.

Definitely risky but raw power and style. Worst case scenario it's Chrome Mox fodder. Similar to Mana Severance where it is 1 card setting you up for the win. Maybe Leyline of Anticipation or Borne Upon a Wind?

I saw this and decided it was a bit too risky to run. If I don't draw well or find the right cards quick enough, it's a dead slot unfortunately. I slimmed down to only win conditions and search cards instead.

Hello fellow EDH players. I’m facing a dilemma I’d like some help with.
I’m working on making a Voltron deck around Wraith, Vicious Vigilante, but my regular edh pod has two players who have a tendency to auto target and/or kill on sight any Voltron deck, one of which often uses many control pieces in his decks. I’m wondering if I should add more protection and counter magic, and what cards could I cut to do so? I’ll link the deck below, thank you for your feedback!

Welcome to the Isshin club. 2025 was a pretty solid year for Isshin between all the new stuff in Dragonstorm and Firebending in Avatar to a certain extent.
Have you had a chance to play this deck irl yet? All in all your deck is solid and has a lot, if not all, of the great staples for Isshin. I have a few general suggestions for your consideration as you get more reps in with this deck, if you haven't had a chance to play it yet:
-
If you're ever looking for future slots to edit, I'd recommend starting with your 5 mana and higher slots. In my experience playing Isshin, he really benefits from keeping a lower curve for quicker starts and easier rebuilds after board wipes.
-
On the note of a lower curve, I think you could benefit from including a couple more 2 cmc rocks. I also run 35 lands in my Isshin deck, no MDFC lands, but 3-4 mana rocks for ramp has felt like a general sweet spot without detracting from other aspects the deck needs.
-
Once you start on your first round of edits after getting some games in, I'd recommend adding a bit more removal. Nothing crazy, but definitely some cheaper stuff like Swords to Plowshares.
-
Lastly, as you play the deck, make note of which attack triggers feel most fun for you or are most successful in your meta, and really lean into those. Editing out attack triggers that aren't as beneficial or fun is another great way to free up slots for whatever you feel the deck is lacking.
I hope these broad suggestions are helpful. Happy to talk shop if you're ever looking for more specific suggestions on swaps and edits.

Good start but I do have a few suggestions.
Gisa, Glorious Resurrector is EASILY your best theft option for Marchesa as it does both theft and sacrifice repeatedly with no further mana invested. Get it outta the maybeboard.
Feed the Swarm, Chaos Warp, and Canoptek Tomb Sentinel are your only realistic ways to deal with problematic enchantments in these colors. Don't get caught with your pants down vs. Rest in Peace, Solemnity, etc.
Satoru, the Infiltrator is one of the best draw options available to Marchesa bar none. Marchesa's recursion are all separate triggers, so like Thran Vigil, this triggers separately for each creature. Danny Pink is also amazing here. Keep in mind a creature returning from the grave is a new creature so alt +1+1 counter sources like Uncivil Unrest will draw again on resurrection.
Kardur, Doomscourge can feel dirty but goading all your opponents' creatures (and even fresh Haste creatures) repeatedly is highly effective to say the least.
Gray Merchant of Asphodel and the lifegain seem counterproductive here, but with any alternate source of +1+1 counters, he ends games fast. You get that etb 5 times (or more with clones) in one trip around the table. Easily my #1 finisher here.
I also can't recommend it enough... but get your remaining Signets and Talismans in here asap. The difference between a t3 and t4 Marchesa is huge.
Let me know if you're picking up what I'm putting down and I can help suggest a few cuts. Been piloting Marchesa for a literal decade now, so happy to help if you want.
hyalopterouslemur on Overrated cards?
So I've been thinking a lot about overrated cards. Not bad cards, just...overrated.
An example I can think of is Underworld Connections. People recommend it as an alternative to Phyrexian Arena, but it costs a mana every turn you use it (tapping a land = paying a mana for all intents and purposes). While there are ways to use it more than once, I've never seen it played with Earthcraft or Seedborn Muse or some other land untap card. It's not the worst Arena variant. (That would be Pain Seer.) It's not even bad. But it just doesn't seem that good in a format that also has Arena. (And yes, I acknowledge Arena's flaws, and think it should mostly be limited to Stax and other slow, controlling decks. Thing is, Underworld Connections has all the same flaws and costs you mana to use.) Is it just for people who are worried about paying life?
Any other cards that always seemed overrated to you guys?

Thanks. The deck has 18 forms of ramp, based on enchanting lands to produce extra mana (increasing the aura count) and untapping them for even more mana. Rampant Growth isn't really on-theme.

Love the term "bolt Ron-ish"! :-D
Sorry if you already knew this and I just misunderstood your recommendation. But Blade of Selves and other Myriad effects are pretty terrible on most Commanders ... whenever we control multiple copies of a Legendary permanent with the same name, we have to immediately choose one and put the others in the graveyard :-/
The only exceptions I know of are Commanders we want in the graveyard (e.g., Slimefoot and Squee) and those we want to kill (e.g., Juri, Master of the Revue).
Thanks though, and cheers!

I think the points are just another indicator for how active someone is on site, in addition to the site rankings. Points can go down if you're not as active, so that's why I figured they're tied to general site activity, much like how site rankings also decrease if you're not as active.
I'm not sure if votes on comments are factored into all of the above as well. Similarly, I think Helper rank increases if more suggestions are accepted. Regardless, points and the site ranks are more so indicators of overall activity on site, and are not static in any way. I don't think any of them count for anything beyond being cosmetic aspects to profiles, or to give others a rough guess as to how much any other person regularly posts. At least, those are my guesses after being on here 10+ years.
It's kind of like Whose Line Is It Anyway?

With a bolt Ron-ish (I’m going to leave that autocorrect there, because I like it as much as I like ‘voltron-ish’) commander I like the Blade of Selves because myriad really rounds things out nicely. The trouble I keep running into is the balancing the bouncing of creatures and equipping them with things. I’m not sure what the best answer is for that… which is where I end up every time I start thinking about massacre girl. Maybe you can rely on something like Endless Scream on the following turn, to follow her etb board wipe, and just never plan to cast her more than once a game? She’s literally the embodiment of Rakdos: yes, you’ve done insane destruction to everyone around you… but to what end? Loool

As a game it plays like a fallout adjacent role playing game, very expansive and encourages exploration. I'd give it a solid 8/10 for examination as a role player, alone. As a reference to the source material? A wealth of healthy investment and respect went into the game. I play on a last generation breadbox known as a PS4.
