SaberTech on Mana Rocks or Mana Dorks?

I think that Bloom Tender is a bit lackluster if you are only going to get two mana at most out of it. For only providing two mana (assuming you have a black permanent out too) it's a bit slow and vulnerable due to being a creature that enters with summoning sickness.
I'd rather replace Thought Vessel with something like Nature's Lore or Farseek for the more guaranteed mana fixing. They are also much cheaper to buy compared to Bloom Tender if you don't already have copies.

Please forgive me for resurrecting an older thread, but I am contemplating replacing the copy of Thought Vessel in my Meren of Clan Nel Toth EDH deck with a copy of Bloom Tender, so what advice can anyone here offer, on that subject?

Should I replace Thought Vessel with Bloom Tender? Both Reliquary Tower and Decanter of Endless Water should be sufficient for increasing my maximum hand size, and it would be nice to have another creature that I could sacrifice, if necessary.
SaberTech on Should I Keep Basalt Monolith …

If you find that the deck frequently lets you have more than 7 cards in hand then yeah, Thought Vessel is worth considering. Of those options though, Noble Hierarch would be my pick since it lets you jump to 3 mana a turn early and every mana dork is an extra card draw with Chulane later in the game. Sakura-Tribe Elder is also worth considering even though you have to sac it. I would consider ramping into an extra land a safer form of ramp that the Maraleaf Pixie at the same mana cost. The Pixie would be better in decks that run cards like Ohran Frostfang or Bident of Thassa.

SaberTech, in that case, would Thought Vessel be a good choice, or what about either Maraleaf Pixie or Noble Hierarch?

Profet93, my thoughts on Thought Vessel is that I already have two free drops that do that effect.

Just like Last_Laugh [hope you're doing well], spellslinger is outside my wheel house.
Defense Grid might be worth looking into to protect your combo, though it does make your instant speed interaction more difficult to cast. Really depends on how much you prioritize protection over your glass cannon over interaction. And at the risk of being hypocritical...
Snuff Out and Force of Despair - Manaless instant speed interaction.
Funny enough, with all your 0 drops, aetherflux would be fun to see, but it would spread the deck too far in a different direction.
Sensei's Divining Top - Cheap, useful, especially with mystic forge. If you were to add an artifact cost reducer (like Cloud Key), then it could be a fun infinite combo to draw your entire deck and burn your opponents alive with your commander on board. Though, most of your artifacts are free, so the synergy's value is lost.
Thoughts on Thought Vessel?
These are more fringe but just wanted to throw everything at you and see if they tickle your fancy.

Greetings!
Noticed your Help tag, and request for some general feedback ...
Biggest advice I could give -- especially if you're aiming for Bracket 4 -- is to invest a bit in your manabase for sure, and maybe in some more mana acceleration/cost reduction effects.
With a 4-mana Commander who wants to be casting multiple 3-mana spells a turn, I'd recommend 38 Lands (with as few Tap Lands as possible), 12 mana acceleration effects (costing 2-mana or less, to help power out Y'shtola on Turn 3), and 4 cost reduction effects or slow mana sources (costing 3 mana or less, to help power out 2x spells a turn starting on Turn 4).
Some possible Lands (with more options over at Managathering.com):
- Fetchable Triome: Raffine's Tower
- MDFCs: Hengegate Pathway
Flip, Clearwater Pathway
Flip, Brightclimb Pathway
Flip, and maybe Waterlogged Teachings
Flip (not sure if it's worth it as the Land side enters Tapped)
- Missing Fetch Lands: Marsh Flats, Flooded Strand
- Missing Battlebond Lands: Sea of Clouds, Vault of Champions
Possible Fast Mana sources:
- Fellwar Stone
- Thought Vessel
- Mox Amber and Mana Vault (worth mentioning, even if they're too spendy)
Possible Cost Reducers/Slow Mana Sources:
- Lyse Hext
- Alisaie Leveilleur
- Grand Arbiter Augustin IV (I know he's 4 mana, but he's really good)
- Relic of Legends
- Bender's Waterskin
Good luck (and good skill!) with Y'shtola!
Cheers!
