Maybeboard

Welcome to my Sunblast Angel control deck.

STRATEGY

This deck revolves around the destructive ability of Sunblast Angel. You allow your opponent to flood the board with creatures and then stall them with different spells. When you have enough mana, play Sunblast Angel and wipe their side of the board. With so many decks in Modern seeking quick and effective victories, after their creatures are destroyed they'll be left in shambles.

This deck also utilizes different flicker cards as an additional theme.

KEY ELEMENTS

Sunblast Angel: Crushes your opponent's creatures and then becomes a beater with flying that will slam your opponent while they try to replenish their side of the board.

Blustersquall: Can be used in a pinch for one mana, but mainly used as one of our primary ways to stop an attack and set up a Sunblast Angel sweep. Being an instant makes it infinitely preferable to Sleep.

Cryptic Command: A cornerstone of the deck. I use it primary to tap out my opponent before their combat phase, and being able to bounce a permanent, counter a spell, or draw a card is unreal. Most decks that run control rarely use the tapping ability, so it's fun to make use of it here.

Gideon Jura: If I have no more stalling cards left, this guy can buy me another turn. If I already have a creature like Gideon's Avenger on the field he can quickly take over the game.

UTILITY CARDS

Snapcaster Mage: A superb card that provides a ton of value. Can flash in as a chump blocker or to trade with another creature while letting me re-use one of my cheap spells.

Path to Exile: A Modern staple for any deck running white. If I need mana badly for a Sunblast Angel I can exile one of my own creatures, adding to its usefulness.

Wall of Omens: Slows down opponents wonderfully and its card draw is very useful.

Blade Splicer: A great value card that can be bounced multiple times.

Deadeye Navigator: This card plus Wall of Omens, Sunblast Angel or Blade Splicer can be very fun.

Flickerwisp: A great way to bounce different creatures while dealing damage in the air.

Feeling of Dread: Mid-game stalling technique that works even better with Gideon's Avenger on the field.

WHAT I'M CONSIDERING

I would love to be able to incorporate some card draw into this deck. Also, if anyone out there knows any card in general that favors mass tapping please suggest it!
