I was standing on my toilet and hanging a clock when I fell and hit my head on the sink... that's when I got the idea for this deck.
Yeah, I wanted to make a Standard deck featuring
Ooze Flux
with cheap evolve creatures that could evolve from the created oozes, thus making (increasingly) big creatures for 1G.
Works actually quite well.
State: Ready, sideboard might need work.
Note the splash of white in the mana-base is merely for Gavony Township which is awesome for this deck - especially combined with any of Champion of Lambholt, Master Biomancer,
Fathom Mage
and/or Gyre Sage.
Card breakdown
Ooze Flux
: The card that gave this deck its name. Everything in this deck revolves around making this card work better. Still, even without an
Ooze Flux
, this deck can be pretty boss.
Champion of Lambholt: A beast in this deck, since with
Ooze Flux
you can output 2-4 creatures a turn, giving this lady as much +1/+1 counters. And making all creatures unblockable? Yes, please, I'll take 4.
Experiment One
: Unfortunately one of the only guys that can survive a boardwipe... Although if we have an
Ooze Flux
, we can recover quite fast if we have at least two of these guys left after regenerating.
Elusive Krasis
: Very solid evolve trigger and triggerer. Unblockable, even without Champion of Lambholt and a definite blocker against aggro.
Farseek: Recently replaced the fun but rather aggro
Shambleshark
.
Bioshift: It's not always useful, but when it is, boy does it do some work. It can save you from a boardwipe by putting counters on your
Experiment One
s, or as a suprise combat trick. It's also very useful for putting additional counters on Master Biomancer, Champion of Lambholt,
Fathom Mage
or even Gyre Sage.
Simic Charm: All purpose savior slash combat trick. Can also be used on Master Biomancer to make super-big guys afterwards or Champion of Lambholt to guarantee unblockable creatures.
Gyre Sage: Can be a decent blocker and sometimes even a nice attacker, not even mentioning the mana-producing capabilities combined with
Ooze Flux
.
Rancor: Most of the time, our guys will be unblockable because of Champion of Lambholt. Put this thing on her to make it more likely that they are. Or put it on Master Biomancer to make bigger dudes.
Alchemist's Refuge because you sometimes need to play things in the opponent's end step.
Gavony Township: (Currently) The only reason this deck splashes white. It's all about the counters, isn't it?
Sideboard card breakdown
Bramblecrush: All-purpose removal, especially good for those pesky lands like
Kessig Wolf Run,
Vault of the Archangel etc or for all sorts of Planeswalkers.
Dissipate
: Useful against all kinds of stuff, especially reanimator decks, or things like Thragtusk.
Pithing Needle: All purpose Planeswalker hosing, also useful for some mean things like Falkenrath Aristocrat, Olivia Voldaren or some sacrifice engines.
Silklash Spider
: The definitive answer to flying armies on the opposite side of the field.
Thragtusk: 5 life and 2 blockers that can potentially trigger evolve can mean the difference between life and death against aggro. I initially had
Predator's Rapport
in here, since my creatues CAN get very big, but it's just too unreliable.
