Sideboard

Maybeboard

This brew here I've been testing out on cockatrice (@mtgcuckslave) and I'm real excited to share it with you punks. Resplendent Angel is boinkers AF here, and I've even heard some rumors from some wizards that she's been seen sucking some blood (among other things) with some of her new vampire buddies.

One of the vampires she's been seen sucking, is Adanto Vanguard. Adanto the bonto boy, do not be mistaken. If you slapping Squire's Devotion on him, you'll be pimpin' large in a minute, no doubt.

I also chose to include all the other 2- drop vampires in here, fore the curve allows for it, and they all dope tho.

7 is the number I chose for the 1-drop spot, splitting Duskborne Skymarcher and Skymarcher Aspirant as a 2 of each, and a firm 3-of Legion's Landing  . The skymarchers I feel do a good job sharing deck space, cuz dey boff hab slight situational upsides comparably, and having 1 of each of them on the battlefield is more likely to have better value than 2 of the same.

What's that? Arguel's Blood Fast   in the mainboard? Absolutely dummy; this is a life gain deck, try to keep up.

...iight, HOooLD-UP, chil, cuz I'm feeling like Call to the Feast is valuable AF, and 2-in mainboard 0-in sideboard is mad disrespect. Honestly tho, it's sharing space with Elenda, the Dusk Rose in the mainboard, whom works similarly, and the curve specifically allows for around roughly 4 4-drops for maximum consistency (though this can be slightly adjusted by going from 62 to 60 cards in your working library when you break open the sideboard)... iight cuz, so let's talk about about the sideboard. You tell me you got room for Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Sanctum Seeker, and even Bishop of Binding but you can't give props to the lil nicros?

First off "Nicro", don't be talking SMACK about Bishop of Binding, fore heith a game winning play in many a match-up E.G. Ghalta, Primal Hunger? Ya goon'e. Dank-dum Seeker is also a necessary shout out, for he specifically will win you some games as well. Ajani can +1 for anthem, or if you going real wide, minus for, ideally Legion Lieutenant for anthem. Also planeswalkers.

Do I lack removal? Absolutely. Am I unsatisfied with the situation capability of removal in this format? Also yes. I chose Seal Away as primary sideboard removal, because it deals with Rekindling Phoenix, a card in which I despise, and is ever present in a match-up I'm trying to gain favor against here.

If I find I need more removal in the mainboard, I'mma likely sub out 1 of each 2-drop creatures. The order of which likely being: Adanto Vanguard first to go (He's most important, but there's little need to have multiples). Dusk Legion Zealot second, because while "paying for itself", provides little synergy with Resplendent Angel, the true win condition of the deck. Third Martyr of Dusk, because going wide don't mean JACK offensively if you ain't got your anthems on deck.

I also feel I want to have the best chance to deal with control/aggro decks alike, so the first game against control I want value from EVERY card I draw (because control match-ups will generally be more troublesome for a lifegain deck).

Things to look out for? Goblin Chainwhirler, big surprise, can wipe your damn board, and is the main reason Radiant Destiny is in the mainboard.

Settle the Wreckage is another card that's notorious of completely switching the momentum of the game, so careful with that.

Ritual of Soot basically wipes our whole board as well, so be prepared to have answers for that nonsense.

So in essence, board whipping PNS is a problem for us, but I'm hoping Orzhov guild has reliable counters for at least some of these effects later in the season, when I imagine this deck will be POPPIN.

iight quan, das all I qot, pop pop, whatchu got? Talk some PS niqqi I'm all ears.
