Thanks man. I really don't think Geist of St Traft is tier five.

Very fun. I like the idea of a hexproof commander. It makes it harder to kill a little. Some cards I'd recommend is more boardwipes like Cyclonic Rift and maybe another aura for your commander like Steel of the Godhead. My favorite white spell I'd recommend for you is Silence. You pretty much have free reign to play however you like without being targeted for a turn.

Tier 5 in multiplayer. Higher in French Duel. +1

Thanks for the vote on my deck.

I don't design my EDH decks specifically for duel, but I think I recall Sol Ring being banned in the French Duel rules.

Consider Arcane Denial perhaps.

I have found that having auras and equipment in a deck with very few creatures can easily result in having the former without any of the latter to attach them to.

I think you also need more card draw. Playing so many counters and removal spells will empty your hand quickly, so you'll need a lot of reliable card draw.

I'll +1 your deck! You play Geist and I like Geist. I run a Geist Tiny Leaders deck, I used to have a Geist Commander deck. I do not like French rules, but I do have a dual deck I use if people ever want to dual commander.

Rafiq, Army of One

P.S. No love for Azorius Guildmage?

+1 for this deck. Quite a solid build, and a very annoying one to go up against. I just wish I could test my Resistance is Futile deck against it sometime :)

I'd switch out Ordeal of Heliod or Ordeal of Thassa for Steel of the Godhead and do you really need Odric, Lunarch Marshal in here?

If you are going for a 4/4 angle killing spree, better add Moonsilver Spear to compliment Invocation of Saint Traft and the saint himself. Then Sundial of the Infinite to keep those angels.

That's a great idea I second that vote for Steel of the Godhead, and Sundial of the Infinite I've also seen some success with Spectral Flight.

Steel of the Godhead and Sundial are on it's way home. Odric give evasion to Geist and protection to the token every combat. Now I'm thinking in some draw engine and utility creatures to add.

I like Jace Beleren, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Ponder, Brainstorm also Council's Judgment. These are all really great cards :)

This looks like a solid list. I am not sure why this is but my upvote button is broken at the moment :-/

As for suggestions, there are some cards I am not a big fan of, but perhaps that is because I am a newb when it comes to blue/white.

Descend upon the Sinful: Seems like an overcosted board wipe. How often do you get delerium? I would think that Supreme Verdict and/or Austere Command would be better for you.

Unexpectedly Absent and Path to Exile seem like upgrades to many cards within your removal suite.

Spell Pierce and Swan Song also seem better counterspells than many of the ones you play.

I don't see alot of card advantage spells either. Do you run out of cards often?

I really like it. I could see you taking some counterspells out and having more lasting permanents like Rule of Law, Propaganda, Ghostly Prison, and Sphere of Safety. Path to Exile as well as Wrath of God and Supreme Verdict look to be better removal.

Sorry for the double post but I also think you would be well served by cutting many 3cc cards for 1cc cards. As Shane.Allen pointed out Brainstorm, Ponder, Preordain etc are incredible value cards that you can cast on turn one to sculpt your hand as needed. You have 20+ 3cc cards and that is your commanders slot. Ideally you want your curve to taper downward so you can disrupt and draw on turn 1-2 so giest can come down on turn 3. Sitting idly until turn 3 is a death sentece in competitive edh.

Thanks. I'll try to lower down my spell curve. But this list is intended to be more duel and less multiplyer. I'll keep all the advises in mind.

Use Sundial of the Infinite with St Traft and your flicker effects. Wait till the exile effect is on the stack, end your turn and you keep the angle or permanently exile any flickered creature. If you limit your flickers to opponents creatures then using Containment Priest will also exile them for good. Using Astral Slide and various cycling cards gives you a flicker and draw. There are some nice ones in your colors and a at least 4 lands you can use in place of a some basics.Might also want to consider Sword of Fire and Ice.

If you want a good card to pair with Odric for evasion/protection Unquestioned Authority, Commander Eesha or Beloved Chaplain

August 16, 2016 8:15 a.m.

Ok a couple of things. First, +1 for picking geist as general :). Second, you may have too many counterspells, I'd recommend running around 20 max and adding more equipments/auras. For auras, I'd recommend Daybreak Coronet and Rancor, as well as Ethereal Armor. Hope this helped.

Shane.Allen says... #22

VraskaTheCursed Rancor is green. I do like Daybreak Coronet. this deck is for French rules EDH, in this format games are very fast, it comes out being more like legacy ED, so in that aspect, if you can counter them for a few turns your win percentage goes way up.

August 16, 2016 8:53 a.m.

Shane.Allen Lol forgot about the colors. I do realize that in formats like legacy, edh, and vintage the games are much faster and counter-focused, but i feel like running a few less counterspells and maybe some more aggressive spells or removal would be beneficial. I mean, either way, Geist is busted as a voltron general lol :)

August 16, 2016 10:26 a.m.

Shane.Allen says... #24

This is true VraskaTheCursed he is one mean Voltron deck, I agree with you on that about 20 counters would be more then enough, I like the idea of adding more removal keep the way clear for Geist. Also why no Steel of the Godhead

I love this deck. I would probably add shock lands and fetches in lieu of a few basics. Great Voltron deck. You might consider adding Sovereigns of Lost Alara to help tutor out your auras.

I use Rafiq of the Many for my Voltron commander for the green splash.
