Trying to make a competive merfolk deck for ixalan.I think that it might lack power for standard as it is, but I do like my merfolks :)
The merfolk tribe has quite a lot of synergy built into them and that is where they will either fall or succeed.Tribe is aggressive with a lot of 2 drops and counters at 3 mana. Also they have 2 really good finishers Herald of Secret Streams &
Tempest Caller
if you have the board. I removed the
Tempest Caller
in favor of
River's Rebuke
as that clears out pesky enchantments and plains walkers if you find yourself behind.
Siren Stormtamer might be in wrong deck, but I want to try it. I could easily see it being replaced by counterspells or some board interaction.Key cards that I have identified while playing and must 4 of:

. Deck churns thru cards fast and even with 4 draw spells feel like they are not enough but spots on the deck are quite limited as theme requires quite a lot of merfolk in deck to work. But still deck is missing removal and at least 1 good merfolk.
Other cards that I would like to get in: River Heralds' Boon (2 main), Blossoming Defense (side perhaps), Watertrap Weaver (2 copies) keeping hazoret/dinoes from attacking.
Aethersphere Harvester x2 was added to side while making changes, also couple cards from main transferred to side. Also played around some card amounts adding and removing.

Ps. Gave up on this part: "Also I would like to get at least one effect to boost everybody in board, as we are going to be producing 1/1 merfolk tokens." no space in main deck for the enchantment and perhaps not even in side, but it is good vs control.
Pps. Made a competitive version of this deck: "merfolk" deck *competive* thing is, that not much of the merfolks theme left after upping powerlevel.
