Welcome to my R/W hatebears deck! If you have seen my 5 color humans deck (I'll put a link at the end), Then you might know how much I love Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, and how often I brew new shells for her. This one is my most successful ones, having good matchups against multiple teir decks. Simian Spirit Guide is the low-key all star, powering out turn 1 Thalia's and Leonin Arbiters to slow down your opponent's mana, and also presents the possibilty of turn 2 Magus of the Moon which can be game over against decks that only play non-red removal like Path to Exiles and Fatal Pushs. Tunnel Ignus is another great creature turn 1, as it can sometimes Force and opponent to pay 12 life just for a couple dual lands!
As for some other cards, Aegis of the Gods protects against discard from B/Gx, and shuts down burn and Scapeshift if not Lightning Bolted. I'm thinking of trimming down to 1, but it really helps in some below-50% matchups. Mirran Crusader is great against Jund and Abzan, as well as some fringe decks like mono-black devotion and the rock. Goblin Rabblemaster is our main win condition outside of beating downbeat with 2/x's, as it can start swinging for 4 or 5 by itself, and starts spewing out little Raging Goblins. It also works great with Mentor of the Meek, our card draw engie.
As for non-creature spells, Path to Exile is good on it's own, and is great with Leonin Arbiter and Aven Mindsensor . Lightning Helix is our fifth removal spell, and gains us a little life on the side against faster decks. Lastly, Aether Vial wraps it all up, letting us play mutiple creatures a turn for just one mana! The downfall is that we run out of cards quickly, but Mentor of the Meek can fix that.
