Sideboard

Jesper burn! Crackling doom is pretty busted, and is one of the best creature removal spells, so why not? Playtest if you wish, and let me know what you think! Also, the sideboard/maybe board options need to be a topic of discussion in any comments you have, if you can manage. I really appreciate any input from you guys! Thanks again!

Finished 6th tonight at fnm with a record of 1-0-3. Which, considering the margin by which I tied people, is pretty good for a first run. My last round was an intentional draw with a friend of mine because we knew neither of us could win first place.

1st match: sultai...control? That's what he called it, at least. First game, my opening hand was mystic monastery, temple of deceit, magma jet, magma jet, magma jet, Jeskai charm, stoke the flames. Just went nuts on the burn. Game two was a bit more grindy. He ended up landing a rakshasha deathdealer. He was about to swing for lethal against me, but prior to combat, I casted riddle of lightning targeting him (he was at four life). Picked up the top three and saw land, land, crackling doom. Had to ship them all to the bottom, because I was going to lose if I didn't kill him with the riddle. Flipped up the top card, and a wild narset appeared. Hit him for six and sealed the match. 2-0.

2nd match: abzan midrange/stuff: Essentially this matchup just came down to him playing a bunch of creatures, me killing them and then we found parity where neither of us could pull ahead. Went 1-1-1 and tied on rounds. Felt good to tie with him, as he won all of his other matches, and this was the first outing for my deck. Felt good to Fated Conflagration his Polukranos, World Eater on turn 4. Took him by surprise.

3rd match: ajanis pridemate lifegain. He beat me really easily in game 1. Just just two life gain triggers for his pridemate, and I drew no crackling dooms, so he just swung in for the kill on turn 5 or something. Game two went on for around 35 minutes. I boarded in my second copy of erebos, and all of my other control spells. Ended up stalling out his board, and cutting off his life gain. After that, I could not get ahead, as I was unable to draw enough action to put him down. He played an Ajani Steadfast and ended up popping the ultimate, making it extremely difficult to kill him. Actually ended up with an urborg in play and drew four cards off of erebos in one turn to try to find my Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Finally got to her and took over the game. Extremely long and grindy. Game three went to turns fairly quickly because of the length of game two. I put an erebos out on turn four, and we both essentially knew that we were going to draw when time was called. 1-1-1 for the match.

4th match: temur monsters. Intentional draw against one of my friends since we knew neither of us could win.played a few games for fun though, and I annihilated him game 1. Didn't sideboard for game two, and had the same result as game 1. He sideboarded for game 3 (I did not) and he beat me. Although, to my credit, I stopped casting spells to deal with his creatures, so that I could try to set up to blow him out with a few burn spells and anger of the gods, but he fasted a Savage Knuckleblade and I took 16 damage in one turn. 2-1 for the games we played.

Overall: 1-0-3 was a pretty good showing, and I feel like the deck has the potential to go places. People definitely do not see it coming when I crackling doom their polukranos. Erebos and crackling doom were just over the top good. I'm going to be playing this for a while just to tweak it and see how far I can push it. Any suggestions you guys have are appreciated, and if you'd like to know anything about the deck or how i play it, feel free to ask! Good luck everyone!
