Looks neat! Are you finding that you can cast your cards easily, it seems like you have a little low land and mana rock count. Do you often hardcast your Eldrazi Titans?

Have you considered Liliana's Caress,or Megrim ?

November 29, 2016 1:01 p.m.

OpenFire so far it's been working fine in my play tests. Usually get 3 lands a hand and cycling with the wheel cards let's me pick what I want for ramp. I don't really want to play the titans unless I could go in for the damage win since they shuffle my library back in from the grave.

AwezomePozzum yes, that's could be very useful. What should I switch out?

MonoModControl I have and either paints a big target on your back. I would be willing to put the caress in but would like a suggestion for a swap out.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Zimmers_0: I'm thinking you should take out Altar of Dementia. I don't think you want to be sacrificing all your creatures, do you?

AwezomePozzum agreed and replaced. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sweet deck, every thought of squeezing in Rogue's Passage in for unblockability?

December 1, 2016 12:58 p.m.

Enral yeah that'll probably be needed at some point. Thanks!

I would suggest throwing in a Molten Psyche and possibly even a Hive Mind to get a wheel per player.

Sphinx's Tutelage also helps you mill faster, it destroys Mono and Dual colored commanders.

My friend has a deck similar to this, Wheelin' and Dealin' (New Hands) and it destroys our playgroup! Check it out!

Yours looks good, +1.

December 1, 2016 4:17 p.m.

Why no Savage Beating? That card should be in every Yidris deck ever; it's just so silly with his ability.

December 1, 2016 4:23 p.m.

DiggleMcGee Hive Mind and Sphinx's Tutelage are fantastic ideas! Molten Psyche doesnt make them discard though as much as I want to play it and I dont run enough artifacts. Your friends deck is pretty bad ass btw. Its really out there with possibilities for the wheel.

Austin_Smith_of_Cards I do enjoy Savage Beating but not sure if I have enough ramp for it. What would you suggest I swap?

December 1, 2016 5:45 p.m.

I would say swap out Geth's Grimoire for Savage Beating since you'll be redrawing plenty of cards with the wheel effects anyway, and additional card draw is counterintuitive to cascade.

If you'd rather keep Geth's Grimoire though, I would say to exchange it for Void Winnower, which doesn't really do much for your strategy at the moment except serve as a giant spell to cascade off of.

Austin_Smith_of_Cards switched void winnower out. Thanks for the suggestion!

Cool! I didn't know you could double up the Yidris Triggers! It's Wanderer with Black!

Strionic Resonator and Relentless Assault-type spells will get you there, too. Entwined Savage Beating is Savage, but you know that already.

Sylvan Library for organizing the top of the deck and maybe Dig Through Time for a big cascade for little mana and getting those two cards you really want before or during your next mill. Animar, Soul of Elements would be nice with your High-CMC creatures, (and recasting your commander).

People are going to get wise to your commander quick, and without many counters or protective answers, I would suggest Whispersilk Cloak to avoid targeted removal and ensure combat damage. It also works great with the Shocker cards mid/late game which become easily blocked.

Remember, you're not the only one running Ulamog and Kozilek, so you may need something to make sure your #1 win condition is still viable. I was going to suggest Leyline of the Void, but it messes up some of your other cool cards. Instead, consider Bitter Ordeal, Extirpate, and/or Surgical Extraction to get them gone for good if the problem arises.

For fun and funk: Mindmoil and Past in Flames

+1 for making a meh commander stand out, +1 for taking it in a new direction, and +1 for introducing me to Heartwood Storyteller!

December 2, 2016 11:49 p.m.

Regoober Thank you for your excellent comment!

I'll be adding Dig Through Time, Whispersilk Cloak, and Mindmoil from your suggestions as they would indeed help this deck out quite a bit. But I would like a suggestion for cuts too. It always seems that cuts are the hardest for me to do when deck building. Also, instead of Bitter Ordeal or Surgical Extraction, Wouldnt it be a better idea to run something like Extract or Praetor's Grasp to take it out before the titans hit the graveyard?

December 3, 2016 2:13 p.m.

Regoober says... #17

Both of those cards are way better: especially if you know your opponent's decks (and If not, you get to know them!)

For cuts, I don't love Howling Mine or Rites of Flourishing because they give opponents options on their turns (unless certain circumstances allow you to wheel them on their turn like Jace's Archivist). Same goes for Heartwood Storyteller: With 40 some noncreature spells, your asking for them do draw an answer occasionally (though the trigger does go off first so, if they don't draw the answer, that's an extra card discarded). Mindslicer can put you at a disadvantage and ruin Archivist and other Windfall-type wheeling. Probably don't NEED Gamble, and If you ran UBRG without a single tutor You'd get Johnny points, but I'd leave it in because it's sweet.

Going back over it, I'm also surprised you don't have Megrim or Liliana's Caress. Also, I got 1-shot by a Guiltfeeder in a Lazav, Dimir Mastermind deck... Food for thought.

December 3, 2016 10:11 p.m.

Regoober Going to have to disagree with you on the graveyard hate since the titans wont make it to the graveyard to remove. The Rites/Howling/Heartwood are in for opponents to draw so I can make them discard the cards. Plus the extra card draw is nice.

I agree that there should be a Guiltfeeder/Consuming Aberration/Wight of Precinct Six but still deciding what to remove. Same with Liliana's Caress as thats a lot of damage.

Even though Ydris isn't my style of commander, this is a great deck +1. This actually put me on the right track to making a decent commander using Nekusar, the Mindrazer. You also might consider using Nekusar in your deck as well.

From experience playing against this sort of deck in multiplayer is really miserable though. A friend of mine used to play a less streamlined version of this, and his turns took upwards of 45 min. And all it ever did was a whole lot of nothing.

I feel this is your goal, but I'll just inform you that in our playgroup it led to people not wanting to play whenever he was around. Imagine having to watch ads for half an hour in between turns. That was what it felt like to play against it. It ended up being taken apart. The deck died of its own cancer so to speak.

This is a Wheely bad deck for making friends!

October 11, 2018 4:18 a.m.

Skinken His turns took 45 mins? How the hell... This deck is pretty fast for me. I usually play it against a Zur deck and its keeps up with that decks tempo. I just wheel, let triggers happen, attack, then pass the turn. While playing this deck, matches usually take about 20 mins 1v1.
