card:Tezzeret's Gambit and Inexorable Tide really, REALLY need to be in this. I would also ditch the Skullclamps too, depending on your playgroup.

Thanks, I didn't even know about those cards! I'm trying to cut it down to 60 cards, but I'm unsure as to what to cut...if you think of anymore that are questionable I'd be glad to here what could replace them or why they should be cut, since it's mainly the Darksteel Transference Deck and some blue cards I had lying around. :)

There's a lot of things I could go on and on about, but here's a link to my White/Blue Proliferate deck that explains everything infinitely better:

Proliferator

(not trying to get any upvotes or anything, there's just a lot of examples in the deck.)

Oh yeah. Take out every card that doesn't help you deck directly, like Mind Control , and pretty every creature that doesn't enter the battlefield with +1/+1 counters or trigger proliferate.

I see your idea of proliferate for creatures with modular, but I originally started this deck as a blue control or at least that was what I had in mind for it. Mind control was put in so that I could "deal" with any creature cards that were "bothersome" or too "big" to handle. I still have yet to play more games with it to find what is useful and what isn't, but I'll keep in mind proliferate and maybe work into an infect deck with it? I've always wanted an infect deck since I first versed one lol.

I've play tested a little bit more and unless I get a lot of modular creatures or stop my opponent with blue spells the deck doesn't run that well right now. Hopefully when I get the other cards I'm looking at it will play better. If not though your proliferate theme may work better with a modular deck and then I'll start in on a separate true "control" deck.

Using modular in the way you want to is like using it like a combo engine rather than through permission. Any creatures too big to 'deal' with can receive a quick kick in the nuts with Fuel for the Cause . Besides, there are twelve creatures with modular. I would start with these first as a starting point and work you way through:

4x Arcbound Stinger - Has flying; very important.

3x Arcbound Ravager - Looks like you already have one, so getting two more won't be an issue.

4x Arcbound Crusher - Big, beefy win condition.

2x Arcbound Overseer - A pseudo-lord, the only issue with him is that he's 8 mana.

2x Arcbound Reclaimer - Acts like a Myr Retriever in this deck.

2x Arcbound Worker - Being 1 mana can be a really big deal sometimes.

Also, there are six blue cards with proliferate: Fuel for the Cause , Inexorable Tide , Steady Progress , card:Tezzeret's Gambit, Thrummingbird , and Viral Drake

There are four artifact cards with proliferate: Contagion Clasp , Contagion Engine , Core Prowler , and Throne of Geth

There are 5 cards that interact with +1/+1 counters in a positive way for you in blue: Energy Chamber , Extruder , Power Conduit , Steel Overseer , and Novijen Sages .

Also, mono-blue infect is pretty awesome. It's kinda odd, so I'd do a search on this site for a pro deck with it. I have one built for fun, since I quit playing standard years ago.

Thanks for the help I thought about it some more and with the modular ability it doesn't work that well with blue control. I'll start to switch over to proliferate and see what I can find on blue infect. Thanks for the help so far! :)

Gilder Bairn , Inexorable Tide , I would keep some Engineers, if you can find more add some Seat of the Synod and at least keep the 2 Arcbound Crusher

I think I'd probably cut out all the creatures that are over 5 CMC and add some of the cheaper modular cards in their place. I'm currently looking at getting some more cards, so I'll see if I can add those cards to my list.

After reading your comment again, warper, I decided to get the cards you mentioned with exception to Gilder Bairn . I don't think he would be worth it considering he isn't an artifact creature and having proliferate cards such as Inexorable Tide would help me out just as much if not more. Thanks for the help though!

This is very well constructed, although you gave me ideas for proliferating in my mill deck meaning that I have 2 planeswalkers in it. It might be a gamble to do so especially if I don't have any planeswalkers out, but that's why I have 2 Jace, Memory Adept s and 1 (soon to be 2) Tezzeret the Seeker in it.

I've actually redone this deck, but haven't updated it quite yet. As you can see I have black cards in my side board of which some have been added into the deck. I'm hoping the added color won't hurt me too bad because I really want Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas !

Steel Overseer is definitely a great card for this. Another couple good cards: Grand Architect and Triskelion . Triskelion actually goes very well with the theme of the deck and can be a win condition on his own, as well as removal for multiple creatures. Academy Ruins also fits nicely in here, and does much the same thing as the Arcbound Reclaimer in your sideboard, but as a land. Suncrusher could be a giant threat, and he is very tough to kill. Finally, Fabricate to tutor up your artifacts, and Thoughtcast for some cheap draw power, since you will normally be casting it for U instead of it's regular 4U.

I had forgotten about Steel Overseer ! He was one of the cards I was thinking of adding while I was first making this deck. I'm not sure about Grand Architect because the added +1/+1 isn't a counter. The additional mana ramp is nice and it can grow very fast effectively doubling my mana...hmmm...I'll have to try it, but he could be a replacement for the Vedalken Engineer 's... Triskelion ...I like him. :D I could see Academy Ruins ...fills the place of two cards with one, but I don't know how beneficial it will be since only one could be in play at a time. :/ I was mainly looking at a theme of Modular for this deck, but many of the cards you've listed would benefit me greatly. Suncrusher is just a deadly card in general! haha If I do add any of these cards and deter from my Modular theme Fabricate and even if I don't deter Thoughtcast will help out a lot!

I'm kind of thinking of making this a mono blue deck again... Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas is a nice card, but I don't get to use him often enough to make it justifiable and with only one other card Grim Affliction benefiting from having black...I'm not sure if it was a good idea :/ haha. Grim Affliction is a helpful card and I do get to use it quite often surprisingly, but I'm not sure about the dual color. The only other benefit I can see is Arcbound Crusher gets more +1/+1's from Vault of Whispers ...I'll have to work on this! You've given me a lot to think about haha. Thanks for your input!

RedFox134 says... #18

I think I'm going to add Triskelion for sure and also a Throne of Geth to make it easier to use my Modular creatures to buff him up! :D

August 19, 2012 3:52 a.m.

RedFox134 says... #19

I hate to do it, but I'm thinking the best thing to do is make this mono blue again and remove 4x Vault of Whispers , 3x Swamp , 4x Grim Affliction , 2x Arcbound Fiend , 1x Arcbound Overseer , and 1x Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas . I'll add 4x Steel Overseer , 4x Triskelion , and 7x Island . I also may remove 2x Fuel for the Cause and replace them with 2x Fabricate .

I think I'm going to replace 2x Arcbound Slith for 2x Blightsteel Colossus es and replace 2x Fabricate s for 2x Tinker s. :D

September 19, 2012 12:05 a.m.

RedFox134 says... #21

I didn't realize it, but according to a friend you can only have 1 Tinker in a deck? I've heard of this as a "limited" or "restricted" rule for tournaments, but this wouldn't apply to casual gameplay as long as the other players were ok with it correct?

September 19, 2012 5:14 p.m.

RedFox134 says... #22

I've also heard of a creature similar to Signal Pest , but it also has infect. My friend couldn't remember the name, but he suggested adding it to the deck. Does anyone know of such a card?

September 19, 2012 6:32 p.m.

RedFox134 says... #23

I decided to scrap the Tinker & Blightsteel Colossus idea due to restrictions and instead go for Scythe of the Wretched + Triskelion + Arcbound Ravager /Throne of Geth . :) I'm leaning towards Throne of Geth as it isn't restricted and instead of one of my creatures getting bigger I can make all of them! :D

Modular + proliferate? Good combination!

I think you should add a bit more lands to this deck, I tried to draw a few hands, one of them had 2 Triskelion with no lands and the first land was the 5th draw.

But that infinite mill/damage combo is very clever! It took a few minutes to get it. Nice idea!

RedFox134 says... #25

As soon as I found out about them I was trying everything to get it to work haha. It runs a bit better in real life as I can mana shuffle it to make sure the lands come out. Plus the Vedalken Engineer s help out a lot with mana.
