It's 2018, and JUND is back y'all! I am so excited to be back on good ol' midrange. I'm also glad to say that we can still play that fun attrition strategy that utilizes Dark Confidant, Tarmogoyf, Liliana of the Veil, the many tools, and the "newest" addition of Bloodbraid Elf to grind our opponents out of the game in the best way possible.

I will be writing a full guide soon!

So I was able to play in a PPTQ this past weekend that reached capacity at 64 players with this exact list. Overall, it preformed well, even though I made some play mistakes here and there, and I was able to take 10th. I am very satisfied and I plan to play this at GP level so be ready! Here is the breakdown of each of 6 rounds.

Rd 1: 2:0 Bant Knightfall

Game 1 came down to my Dark Confidant draws and I was able to draw well enough to keep all of his creatures at bay and blow him out with my Tarmogoyf and Raging Ravine.

Game 2 was all about Grafdigger's Cage. I found it early, I played it and crushed face.

Rd 2: 2:1 Grixis Death's Shadow

It all came down to who was on the play and who was on the draw in Game 1, and I got the play. I was able to rip his had apart with early discard and he couldn't recover.

Game 2 started with a turn 0 Leyline of the Void on my part and I couldn't draw anything relevant so he got there with a large Death's Shadow.

Game 3 came down to a timely Liliana of the Veil to clear his final creature out the way and get there.

Rd 3: 0:2 Ad Nauseam

Really bad matchup for me and got crushed beyond belief in both games.

Rd 4: 0:2 Mono White Death and Taxes

Another bad matchup right after Ad Naus and got crushed by Ghost Quarter + Leonin Arbiter both games.

Rd 5: 2:0 Dredge

This was a very surprising result against a deck that is very tough to beat in Game 1. Scavenging Ooze was the MVP here being able to take out the early dredgers and Prized Amalgams.

In Game 2, I was able to stick both a Leyline of the Void and a Grafdigger's Cage was just too much for him to handle.

Rd 6: 2:1 Grixis Goryo's Vengeance

Game 1 I made a terrible misplay that shook me bad. I got Emrakuled and with the annihilator trigger on the stack I only floated 1 mana when I could have floated 5, and I cast a bolt to try to kill him, and he Izzet Charmed it, losing me the game.

Games 2 and 3 both ended the same way, Tarmogoyfs crushing face too quickly for him to try and defend himself. A timely Grafdigger's Cage also helped me out.

Overall, I played well, and after a long day, I finished with a respectable 4-2 record. Hopefully Im able to improve and try to win the next one.
