Redeem the Lost

Instant

Target creature you control gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Redeem the Lost to its owner's hand. (Each clashing player reveals the top card of his or her library, then puts that card on the top or bottom. A player wins if his or her card had a higher converted mana cost.)

Hey I have a similar deck ( here ) and was wondering what you think? You gave me some great ideas like Trade Routes , Teferi's Response , Tragic Arrogance . I'm concerned about two things for our decks: wincons and stax. Torpor Orb , Rest in Peace , Overburden , Embargo , Containment Priest , etc are removal in a sense, but control decks like to respond and be reactive instead of proactive. What's your opinion on that, and what kind of non-infinite combo wincon would be good for UB? I've been considering Redeem the Lost , Research the Deep , and Pulse of the Grid as a redundant View from Above but they seem mediocre.

Hello! :)

It's always nice to see fresh ideas and Gishath always excites me!

While I appreciate the idea of jamming every dinosaur you have in the deck, I would include some ways of manipulating the top of the deck, as well as more ways to protect the commander. This should be at the expense of some of the more lacklustre creatures.

In addition to that, I would look to improve the deck's mana acceleration and card draw.

Without any further info concerning budget, your meta, and more importantly what is your vision for the deck I can't make a lot of suggestions, but here are a couple that are very budget friendly and can be very good in the deck!

Suggestions: Cream of the Crop, Congregation at Dawn, Crown of Convergence, Hua Tuo, Honored Physician, Gods Willing, Redeem the Lost, Sheltering Light and others like them.

This is a very nice deck with lots of potential! Good job!

Funny you should mention it, I just switched out Blessed Breath and Redeem the Lost for Razor Barrier and Apostle's Blessing. I found that protecting my artifacts was a chore; and even with a bunch of literal giant cards, I rarely won a clash with RtL.

If Gods Willing protected my equipment too, I'd be all about it.
