Zurgo is definitely a fun commander to play, I would recommend going for the aggro/voltron route. Cards that give Zurgo himself double strike or extra combats for set up. Here might be some cards that can be considered: Seize the Day, Sigarda's Aid, Combat Celebrant, Silverblade Paladin, Arashin Foremost, Bruse Tarl, Boorish Herder, Temur Battle Rage, World at War, Duelist's Heritage, Dictate of the Twin Gods, Ajani, Caller of the Pride

Cards I would recommend cutting would be: Resolute Archangel, Plaguecrafter, Opaline Unicorn, Howling Golem, Fleshbag Marauder, Miraculous Recovery, Risk Factor, Smelt, Hazoret's Undying Fury, Impale, Mind Rot, Repeating Barrage, Rise from the Grave, Shadow Slice, Walk the Plank, Arcane Encyclopedia...oh man there is actually quite a bit...

The most important thing to see when deck building is what is your main goal of your deck? After that it's how to achieve you goal or gameplan. Than add cards to support your game plan. For your Zurgo deck, I would recommend adding in more cheap ramp, removal spells, card draw, than protection. The cards I suggested earlier should be under $5 at most and should be affordable to get.

cards to remove (They either have no synergy or are kinda bad): Fleshbag Marauder, Resolute Archangel, Impale (replace with Hero's Downfall), Mind Rot, Repeating Barrage, Diabolic Edict (Replace with Doom Blade), Smelt (replace with Vandalblast), Pillar of Origins, and Arcane Encyclopedia.

Cards to Add: Mardu Banner, Rakdos Signet, Orzhov Signet, Boros Signet, Darksteel Plate, Whispersilk Cloak, Sigarda's Aid, Open the Armory, Chandra's Ignition, Darksteel Ingot, Fellwar Stone, Commander's Sphere, Command Tower, Tenza, Godo's Maul, Sunforger, Swords to Plowshares, Boros Charm, Crackling Doom, Mortify, Archetype of Aggression. WolfBream on Guttersnipe Deck, any thoughts?

After seeing the core set 19 cards, I decided I want to make a mono red deck that will survive the rotation coming in the fall. The whole strategy behind this deck is to do increments of damage to my opponent's health through Viashino Pyromancer, Burn Spells, and Guttersnipe. Are there any thoughts/ suggestions?

Its hard to say, as this deck works well. Perhaps if you're going to run Favorable Winds maybe look at some of the ground creatures to cut? It sounds like heresy but I almost like Bloodwater Entity more than Torrential Gearhulk. Sure Gearhulk lets you cast for free, but Entity is 3 less mana and has flying. They're both good, but it really depends on how you want to play! Another card maybe to look to replace is Repeating Barrage. While its recursive ability is great, it would cost eight mana to return it to your hand and cast it, six if you have Baral out. Entity can give any spell you've cast recursion, albeit slower, but much cheaper. Happy experimenting!

Thank you for tips. I will remove Hazoret's Undying Fury as well as the Torment of Venom and most likely replace with Magma Spray and/or Lightning Strike.

I will be looking to acquire some Fatal Push soon to pack some punch into the deck.Repeating Barrage will definetly get replaced by something quicker.Also was thinking of putting Razaketh's Rite in the mainboard or the sideboard to be able to Pull out Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh when I have the chance.

Defintely gonna work on that soon. Thanks man

This is an interesting deck you have here. I think you may want to cut Repeating Barrage and Torment of Venom in favor of Lightning Strike or Abrade. You may even want to use Shock, Magma Spray, or Fatal Push so you have some 1 mana option to play.

The reasoning for Repeating Barrage is that you are heavy on sorcery spells, your mana curve is a bit high, and I think the instant speed removal will help out more for combat tricks (especially with Spellweaver Eternal).

Why I suggest removing Torment of Venom is purely because its mana cost to function. While I like the torment style cards flavor, the card is unfortunately cumbersome to play most of the time as it is a 4 mana removal spell that doesn't always kill its target. Cutting this for some earlier removal should help with how fast a lot of decks are running or allow you to disrupt your opponent easier on their turn.

I would also Suggest removing Hazoret's Undying Fury in general as it is a very expensive gamble card. Any lands exiled with it are just wasted cards and you could accidentally hit Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh or Never (mana cost seen as both halves) and not be able to cast either. This is a steep price to pay for not being able to untap next turn also. I know you have tricks to play the card for free through Wildfire Eternal or get extra mana from Neheb, the Eternal, but this is still a gamble card that can bite you hard if not careful.

I really like the zombie theme you went with this and how well that should support The Scarab God . Best of luck with the deck.
