oliveoilonyaasscureshemorrhoid Deckling

Commander fanatic since 2011. I prefer that format because it's one that includes cards from almost all sets and lasts arguably longer than other formats. I fell in love with the Sultai early on; between the colors involved, lore, and my personal play style, it fits me perfectly. One day, when I was geekgasming over my Jarad necromancer deck, the moment I saw Sidisi, Brood Tyrant was love at first sight. After I tore apart my three necromancer decks (Jarad, Sultai Schemers, Phenax) and added the freggin necronomicon to make my new Sidisi deck, I was profoundly happy and still talk of it today. Anyway, check out this website I found, it's insanely useful.

Sorry I didn't see your message until now; I don't log into tappedout very often. Yes, I am Smileylich, creator of smileylich.com. Thank you for your feedback! I am updating my site again FYI; slowly updating all the decks/reference pages up to Amonkhet. My favorite card of Amonkhet is Oracle's Vault; it kind of reminds me of Temporal Aperture, one of my favorite cards.

Happy gaming!

You have to go through a filter page to ask a question in the Q&A. That page specifies that the Q&A is for rules questions only. Your non-rules question has been moved to the appropriate forum.

Hey man!In the end, the only thing that got me excited about Amonkhet was tha reprint of Aven Mindcensor. From a +$10 uncommon to a $1 rare. Totally worth it, and the card is criminally underplayed. I haven't played against any new commander or any new card anyways so that's also why the set didn't look that special to me.

That 8x8 video was interesting. It might be useful when trying new builds or even analizing older lists. Althou I'd never go with only 8 ramp cards D: thats too low for me.

Alternative to MTGO, Magic 2014 is a great, single-player game that teaches MTG very well; in addition to learning steps, phases, and resolutions, it offers creative challenges, lets you achieve and face against different decks, and eventually upgrade them so you understand why some cards are better than others.

@Qolorful What other ways are there to get around exile? Plus I never thought of exile that way, I'm starting to respect it more than hate it now. And everyone else, you've been a great help for a fellow magic player! I'm looking forward for more comments too!

Is there any way to allow a creature to survive against mass reduced toughness and exile? I would prefer in G/W, but I'm curious to see if there's any answer at all. I would prefer if your answers didn't include Melira, Sylvok Outcast, counterspells, and flicker effects (unless they return at the end step, please include those), but I still would appreciate any answer. Thanks in advance for answering

Hey, welcome to MTG! It's always nice to see new players, how do you like it so far?

EDHREC is always a good website to help make a deck, even if the format isn't EDH. In this instance, I went to the tab under commander, then looked at each of the Atarka pages (because they are most likely to have dragon-like theme or some suggestions that are good for it's colors. Most of my suggestions would come from those two pages, but the highlights that I would put in are Savage Ventmaw, Dragonspeaker Shaman, Dragonlord's Servant; I would also put in something like Harmonize, Krosan Grip, Blossoming Defense, etc. just in case.

My second problem is the early game: always have cheap creatures. In my experience, a lot of Modern players will win with combat or having an overwhelming force to stalwart the game until they can win. I would suggest something like my favorite Modern card ever or Ohran Viper, they are cheap and can discourage an attack. This is probably the biggest problem, do some research into early game creatures, then add three or four of em.

Lastly, take out all the black. The amount of red in this deck demands it. If you're worried about the haste enabler of your Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, consider Mass Hysteria, Fires of Yavimaya, or Dragon Tempest; if you want to keep the creature board wipe, consider Blasphemous Act, Fiery Confluence, or Savage Twister.

Hope this helps, I'm always here
