Why not run things like Terra Eternal and Teferi's Response as good protection for your land creatures?

Hey I have a similar deck ( here ) and was wondering what you think? You gave me some great ideas like Trade Routes , Teferi's Response , Tragic Arrogance . I'm concerned about two things for our decks: wincons and stax. Torpor Orb , Rest in Peace , Overburden , Embargo , Containment Priest , etc are removal in a sense, but control decks like to respond and be reactive instead of proactive. What's your opinion on that, and what kind of non-infinite combo wincon would be good for UB? I've been considering Redeem the Lost , Research the Deep , and Pulse of the Grid as a redundant View from Above but they seem mediocre.

Devastation Tide is Cyclonic Rift #2

Life from the Loam with my suggestion of Tolaria West is very strong.

Constant Mists should be mainboard as well.

Mox Diamond and/or Mana Crypt if they can be obtained.

Chasm Skulker seems out of place in this list.

Teferi's Response if you are feeling funky.

The $12 Add list

Halimar Tidecaller- Doesnt currently get anything back, but giving your creatures flying can help a lot due to the evasion they gain.

Cataclysmic Gearhulk & Tragic Arrogance- These clear the board of any threats without destroying your lands, Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, or other important things. This gives removal in your favor.

Darksteel Garrison- This protects a land, sort of like Darksteel Plate, but just for a land. It can also buff itself, which is fun! But the important part is that it gives one of your lands indestructible.

Dig Through Time- By far the most expensive card on this list, this card is a very good spell for finding exactly the cards you need for the current situation. You need a boardwipe? Grab one with ol Dig. This card is generally very good.

Fuel for the Cause, Steady Progress, and Tezzeret's Gambit- All provide the ability proliferate. Originally intended for Infect, this lets you put a +1/+1 counter on all of your lands, a strong ability. All along another effect. And the fact that you get creatures with Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper too Lots of power! The cast trigger the spells being cast will resolve after Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper creates an elemental. So you can cast the spell, get an elemental, and buff that elemental with a +1/+1 counter.

Mirrorweave- If you target one of your lands with this, because the base power and toughness is 0/0, all other creatures will have 0/0 power and toughness, killing them. If they have +1/+1 counters or another buff, they will not die. But Mirrorweave should be able to kill most threats.

Teferi's Response- They try to Path to Exile your land, you cast this. They read the card What the heck, this exists?! Unfair! point to the part that says land. This card ONLY helps you, in almost any other deck, it sucks. There is no use in any other deck, but in yours it is excellent. It draws two cards for 2 too. Keep in mind that this stops things like planeswaker abilities too. And it would destroy that planeswalker. Or anything that targets your lands. This is a good card for the deck.

To Arms! and Unity of Purpose- These not only let you untap if you are attacked, they also let you gain mana by tapping all of your lands for mana. Say you had 3 Islands and 4 plains as creatures, if you tapped them all then casted To Arms!, you would get 5 mana out of it. This is a cantrip and mana generator. And one draws you cards How can you resist that?

Equinox- This is another card like Teferi's Response, it protects your living lands from being destroyed by Doom Blade or Beast Within. Or non-living lands, for that matter

Planar Birth- Recurs all of your dead lands back into play. Only works on basics though. Very helpful after a wrath.

Sacred Ground- Along the same lines as Planar Birth, this will bring back your lands whenever there is a wrath. So long as you didnt cast it. This card is very good recursion for you.

Terra Eternal- This card is the gravy train. It makes your lands indestructible for three mana. That simple. This card will put in work, so long as it isnt destroyed itself.

Planar Outburst and Hour of Revelation- Kills all of their stuff while keeping your lands alive. Very handy.

Coastal Breach and Devastation Tide- Wipes their boards clean, leaving you with lots of big lands to stare them down.

I hope this was helpful. I think that with just a little tweaking, the deck can be very good. Hope you have fun with it!

SkulduggeryP Thank you! I like that Teferi's Response! Didn't even know it existed. I'll have to find one for sure. I like the lands you listed but I just don't know if I can justify cutting colored lands for them for not OR if I can find some other stuff to cut to increase the land count.

Thank you again for the suggestions and compliments

First off: Fantastic work. This is a hilarious decklist with a great, unique win-con (Mina and Denn, Wildborn have got nothing on this) which actually could work. Just a few suggestions, although you've probably done more research for this than me. You could include Dunes of the Dead and Sunscorched Desert as alternative win-cons in case they exile your poor, innocent Piranha Marsh. Also, since your entire strategy revolves around your land, I would suggest Teferi's Response. This works fantastically in my Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper deck, and I feel it would have a home here. Also, Ramunap Excavator was printed for some reason, although I still haven't figured out what the devs were on when they decided to.

If you found this helpful, would you mind checking out my Release the Gremlins Tribal deck? I've gotten it as far along as possible on my own, but no one's commented to assist yet. If you have a spare moment.

This is a really neat concept. I like a focus on manlands.

You know what goes great with manlands, though? Teferi's Response. Try it out - it's the best Intervene you've ever played.

If you cast Balance without responding first, then none of your opponents respond, Balance resolves. You don't get a chance to cast Teferi's Response because you already passed up that opportunity. You'll want to say along the lines of "Casting Balance and while holding priority casting Teferi's Response" because usually if you cast a spell/activate an ability it's assumed you pass priority unless you state otherwise. Floating the mana and casting spells one at a time is typically a safer strategy because, even though your opponents will suspect your up to something when you cast a Teferi's Response on your own turn while floating mana, you don't open yourself up as much to getting blown out by counterspells or other responses.
