My take on Modern Mardu Midrange for those of us that don't have goyfs. Currently testing between Monastery Mentor and YP. LotV will find some spots once I pick her up as well

Card Choices:

Lightning Bolt Lingering Souls: Main reason to run these colors

Bitterblossom: Resilient threat, can run away with the game if unanswered

Chandra, Pyromaster Outpost Siege: Good source of card advantage, Chandra also can help push through damage with her +1

Sorin, Solemn Visitor: Life gain, token making, what more could you ask for?

Terminate Path to Exile: Great removal at the cheap

Monastery Mentor Young Pyromancer: tokens, tokens, and more tokens

Lightning Helix: A bolt that gains you life. Necessary with all the bobs hanging around

Dark Confidant: best source of card advantage

Kolaghan's Command: Versatility is the key here, and this card does it all

Inquisition of Kozilek Thoughtseize: get rid of those annoying cards from the opponent's hand

Grim Lavamancer: Good threat that comes down early and can be annoying if it's not dealt with

Blood Baron of Vizkopa: dodges much of the removal in the format, plus can just win the game on his own

Considerations:

Dreadbore: if planeswalkers become more important, this could be better than terminate

Phyrexian Arena: this might be better than Outpost Siege
