The third in my cycle of Ixalan themed commanders. I've got a bit of planning ahead of me for the Pirate deck, there being so many dudes, and trying to tell which are from Dominaria, Ixalan, or any other plane is a bit difficult for myself. I built the deck around Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca so I have a proper "villain" to play against these other tribes, a proper antagonist to drive against dinos, vampires, and pirates, while also being one of the few tribes that feels like they properly can ascend with Kumena's Awakening which has a card design I rather wish continued amongst the tribes lore-wise, featuring the likes of Zacama x Huatli (Huatli Ascending and able to tame the aspects of the three fold sun), Elenda x Aclazotz (the freaking bat god of night! Where is this guy?! I imagine in the depiction of her initial exposure to the rites the birthed the Vampire Inquisition!), Beckett x Jareth (naturally with the creation of the Brazen Coalition as we know it).

It's doubtful when we return to Ixalan that they'll add to this mechanic, I'm certain they'll find something entirely new to craft, and I won't like it at first, but as you can see, years later I'm still obsessing over the Sun Empire. River Heralds. Brazen Coalition. and the Legion of the Dusk Rose. All super cool lore.
