"To the Golgari, anything buried is treasure."

Saw Andrew Cuneo's standard Splendid Reclamation deck and wanted to push the limit of this sweet card. I agree with Andrew's assessment that the real power is a chain of graveyard dump. Discard can never get an early reclamation to full power. His answer in standard was blue. But older formats provide great self-mill in green/black.

Grisly Salvage, Commune with the Gods, Grim Flayer and Harrow help pump the graveyard full of lands. Drown in Filth is great as it achieves our goal and interacts with the opponent.

Delirium is easy to achieve, so Grim Flayer beefs up. It is nice to have a potent threat that manipulates our deck and fills the yard.

The Gitrog Monster helps cycle through our deck. Squandered Resources allows for a land dump, to draw with Gitrog. With Eternal Witness and Nyx Weaver, we can squander all our resources and cycle a few reclamations. Get Ob Nixilis, the Fallen into play and cast Splendid Reclamation with at least 7 lands in the bin and game over. Without having a deck full of Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, this is the best land ETB effect.

I am certainly open to suggestions! This is a budget deck so far, but based on early play I am willing to power it up. Overgrown Tomb will likely be a first upgrade, allowing me to add Wooded Foothills. Verdant Catacombs is a long way off. This could allow a red splash for more land sac outlets.

More interaction might be useful. Thoughtseize, Abrupt Decay and Maelstrom Pulse will counter our opponent. Deathrite Shaman might be useful, but I'm reluctant to exile our own lands. Liliana, the Last Hope provides a solid threat and graveyard recursion.

Side board is tough given graveyard hate. Naturalize x4 is a must to fight off Rest in Peace and Relic of Progenitus. Bind could even come in to help protect out yard. Sweepers should be good against aggro, along with more creature removal. Discard works against a control matchup. Pact of Negation and Scapeshift will be great , but card upgrades will come to the main before the sideboard.

Updates Add

Added Abrupt Decay, Maelstrom Pulse, Pernicious Deed. Allows for a more midrange control strategy while the combo is assembled. Upgraded mana base, I added Overgrown Tomb to all some off color fetches. Verdant Catacombs is too much! Hickory Woodlot is sweet, but drawing multiples is really bad. The extra fetches are awesome, as they generate a ton of landfall triggers.

Found myself bottlenecked around turn four and five. Life / Death can animate The Gitrog Monster or Ob Nixilis, the Fallen early and speed up the combo. It also can surprise the opponent with a land army!

I have so many combo pieces and 1-of and 2-ofs, I figured I should add a tutor, one Dark Petition. So far it has not been playing well. The extra mana goes unspent, because I want to cast on turn 5 and most of my spells are gold. Add Ruinous Path, because of its late game versatility and power with Dark Petition.
