Krovikan Mist Discussion

A soul sister deck would give your friend a bit of trouble. If he's using Krovikan Mist , he's got a pretty heavy creature list. Could use more info on his playstyle. I wager he's going straight up aggro using dudes like Phantasmal Bear , Vapor Snag and Phantasmal Dragon but I could also see him doing something more control-like with Riftwing Cloudskate , Draining Whelk , meloku the cloud mirror and Counterspell since it sounds like he's pretty annoying.

A mid-range life gaining deck sounds like it will consistently give you more turns to play bigger threats and overall be winning more games. Blue has a lot of problem solving cards so I wouldn't rely on a single card to win you a game, especially if it can get countered. I'd lean more to redundancy and playing relevant cards.

Strategies that use creatures like Soul Warden , Thragtusk or making a deck around that new card Bishop of Wings since angels can block flyers or Suture Priest or Gray Merchant of Asphodel

If they had one copy of each of those cards on the battlefield, they would have a 2/2 Lord of the Unreal , 4/4 Phantasmal Image , 5/5 Chronozoa and 5/5 Krovikan Mist . And 3 damage to each creature would wipe their board.

Cool deck. I like illusions too, I have been trying to get it to work for a while. I think that you might want to take out the Chronozoas and Anticipates for Jace's Phantasm and Krovikan Mist, as they are evasive beaters, and they fill oit the curve, and then a playset of Adaptive Automaton, because it is another lord, and tribal decks generally want as many lords as possible. Also, I think that you want Mana Leak over Rune Snag, because you probably won't actually get any others in your graveyard, so I think that it is just better, but not majorly so. Anyway, aside from that, sweet deck, definitely +1 from me :)

Check out Monastery Siege for protection. Id drop the Errant Ephemeron for Illusory Angel. Also Phantasmal Bear and Jace's Phantasm are good drops for buffing the Krovikan Mist. A set of Force Spike for protecting your creatures might work as well.

Just the Illusory Ambusher in the sideboard is not worth it to justify this being a Legacy deck. It is otherwise Modern legal. Also, Krovikan Mist is a very big 2-mana flier. It is definitely worth it. Lastly, Slither Blade does not fit with the deck's plan. Cutting Slither Blade for Krovikan Mist will help your deck a lot.

Krovikan Mist is a must have and Vapor Snag is a strictly better unsummon in this deck. You also need a 4 phantasmal images, not just 2. Also Essence Scatter may be better than negate so you can counter their blockers.Jace's Phantasm is great to lower your mana curve, but at a dollar a piece it may be too costly

I'm assuming this is more of a casual tribal deck than a genuine modern one, even then I'm surprised by the lack of two creatures; Krovikan Mist and Illusory Angel basically they would both be good in this deck.

I'd also suggest Censor instead of Reach Through Mists either you cycle it making it the same effect as Reach Through Mists or you use it as a counter.

Well the sideboard makes no sense, the lack of Mutavault makes limited sense, the CIPT lands are bad, and you have better options such as Daze, and actual Counterspell over Mana Leak and Daze.

Clout of the Dominus is 1 mana for +1/+1 and shroud, but why do you need that when you can play something like Jitte, that lets you win combats more easily, is reusable, gains life, forces damage in etc.

One of the main issues is how easy you eat Sweepers. Krovikan Mist needs like 3 illusions online to be decent, and then a sweeper comes along and you get 3 for 1ed at least.
