RWX Lunarch Creativity

Standard Combo Control RW (Boros)

Sideboard

Based on a deck by SK1LLSHOT. I liked the selection of creatures to pair with Indomitable Creativity and wanted to play around with the idea a bit.

The basic idea of a deck like this is to find ways to get token creatures onto the board early, cast a Creativity for 3 or 4, and make sure the only creature cards or artifact cards in the deck are big impact cards that can win the game on the spot.

For the token creatures part I like Servo Exhibition and Sram's Expertise and Oath of Gideon . Of course the best card for this is Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. Warping Wail seems like an odd choice but it's not a creature itself, can create a creature, and that creature can mana-accelerate which helps out a lot, and its other modes do come up from time to time.

For the impact creatures, I liked the idea of building around Odric, Lunarch Marshal with a bunch of keywords. Angel of Invention gives flying/vigilance/lifelink (and helps reload with extra token creatures for another Creativity). Reality Smasher gives haste/trample. Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger gives indestructible. Void Winnower doesn't give a keyword, but cripples the opponent's ability to defend against a hasty attack. Other than those creature cards, animating a Gideon can also grant indestructible, while animating a Needle Spires can grant double strike. I'm interested in testing some awaken cards or even Chandra, Flamecaller in order to grant haste as well.

That leaves a bunch of open spots for whatever non-creature, non-artifact cards might be fun. Planeswalkers like Nahiri, the Harbinger or Chandra, Torch of Defiance is one way to go. Controlling cards like Stasis Snare or Harnessed Lightning or Shock or Planar Outburst is another. I tried out Bound by Moonsilver and it proved to have good synergy with Void Winnower and how the deck can get a few extra token creatures.

Spark of Creativity is an odd card, but it does seem to work in this deck. Sometimes you find yourself with 5 lands facing an opposing 4 toughness creature and don't have an obvious play. That's a decent setup for a Spark. It's really not a good card, but I find it fun.

On the other hand, I looked at Revolt cards and was underwhelmed, (Decommission seeming like the closest to playable in this deck).

One downside to Warping Wail with Indomitable Creativity and Needle Spires is it really demands the land base to bend over backwards to fill all the mana color demands. A split of Crumbling Vestige and Inspiring Vantage is about the best I can figure out.
