Protean Hulk Yisan

Commander / EDH

Reznorboy

So, this deck was originally a very dank meme deck that I concocted. It was 90 Forests, Yisan, and 9 creatures. (The power 9, one could say.)

It then evolved into something much more.

From my experience, assuming all that you ever draw the whole game is nothing but Forests, this is the best way to go (in my opinion).

  1. Play Yisan (obviously)
  2. Sylvan Safekeeper (if they killed Yisan before you got the chance to tap him for this, you should probably just scoop)
  3. Tajuru Preserver (surprisingly clutch)
  4. Turntimber Sower (this is where things start to get iffy/very situation dependent)
  5. Bramble Sovereign (very good card)
  6. Seedborn Muse (kicking things into turbo)
  7. Paleoloth (not my favorite card personally, but gets the job done)
  8. Protean Hulk (OH, BOY! Copy him with Bramble Sovereign, probably sacrifice a land with Sylvan Safekeeper, pay a green with Turntimber Sower and sac the plant token and 2 Protean Hulks, search for Temur Sabertooth and Lotus Cobra, then Auspicious Starrix and Sakura-Tribe Scout, and use Paleoloth to return the Protean Hulk from your grave to your hand.)

Now, once your turn rolls around again, you can play Protean Hulk again, rinse and repeat a couple of the earlier steps, bring out Fierce Empath and Azusa, Lost but Seeking, (using the Fierce Empath to search for Nyxbloom Ancient and play him), followed by Keeper of Progenitus and something else, does not really matter at this point, while copying the Nyxbloom Ancient and/or Keeper of Progenitus with Bramble Sovereign if possible, while possibly returning the originals to hand with Temur Sabertooth, then replaying them and copying them again, to make it so that each Forest taps for gargantuan quantities of mana.

Then, you can bring out Sawtusk Demolisher, and then Glowstone Recluse and Omnath, Locus of Mana. Then you can begin the pseudo-infinite mutate combo which puts your entire library onto the battlefield. You do this by returning the Auspicious Starrix to hand with Temur Sabertooth, casting him, copying him with Bramble Sovereign, mutating Sawtusk Demolisher and then Glowstone Recluse on to the original, putting lands onto the battlefield, returning the original to hand, and then mutating the Auspicious Starrix onto the token copy as well as the other two, and then returning that to hand and doing it again. This will eventually put your entire library on the battlefield with enough cards like Nyxbloom Ancient. (Sawtusk Demolisher also allows you to destroy all of your opponent's lands.

Once your entire library is on the field, you return Shifting Ceratops to hand, cast him, copy him, return the original, cast and copy him again, and give all of them haste and trample. You then use Sylvan Safekeeper to sacrifice all of your lands, find a way to sacrifice World Shaper, returning all of your lands, and doing this possibly a number of times. You can then use Elder of Laurels to give each of your Shifting Ceratops massive damage output due to the tokens created by Turntimber Sower watching your lands go to graveyard.

You then swing one at each person, and win.
