Description And Primer Show

With the current modern format being able to stabilize early is very important. With decks like Storm and Affinity being strong in the format, decks that do powerful things later in the game can be outraced. However powerful early game packages have been fairly effective at mitigating this, giving more grindy decks the ability to stay in the format as well, such as USA Control, Abzan, and Jund. The best decks in the format must be able to Quickly and in short bursts out value grindy decks, and survive fast decks. Enter Gifts Ungiven. Unfortunately this card has not often been used for just value due to the Gifts Ungiven + Unburial Rites Combo and Storm. But this card can generate massive bursts of value which can dismantle slower decks and other midrange decks due to its flexibility. And with 8 mainboard removal spells it can almost always survive the fast decks.

The sideboard isnt perfect, but is optimized to better dominate more common matchups.

Winning the Game Show

Even though Gifts Ungiven is primarily in this deck for stabilization and value, we also still pack the Gifts Ungiven + Unburial Rites combo. And what is the hardest to deal with easily reanimatable (reanimatable? reanimateable? reanimate able?) creature in modern? Probably AEtherling.

A turn 3 Tasigur, the Golden Fang can stonewall most fast creatures and, if allowed to stay around, can single handedly win the game through its card advantage and large body.
