Sorcery (1)

Have been testing Aggressive Mining in a Loam shell since its release in M15. It's a variation of the Loam archetype (includes 43 Lands, Loam pox and Aggro-Loam established decks).

The result is a control lands deck that can assemble a very potent draw engine by turn 4. Lands are traditionally strong against spell-based control decks, do well against creature-based and midrange strategies, but do very poorly against fast combos. This deck is no exception.

Aggressive Mining + Manabond + Life from the Loam can fill up the hand very fast with lots of lands, unload them into play all at once, and all for very little mana. This can be abused in several ways:

1) Ramp - probably weakest gameplan in Legacy due to abundant removal, but may prove to be viable.

2) Triggers - landfall or CiP effects. Currently testing Altar of the Brood, it is meant to quickly mill down the unsuspecting opponent.

3) Graveyard size - this engine can really stack up graveyard size, which can help the likes of KoTR or Tarmo.

4) Digging through the deck - Dark Depth combo is a natural wincon for a lands deck that can get its lands fast enough.

Suggestions are very welcome. I feel like Aggressive Mining is a very potent card, and it adds another angle to already established loam decks. I'm excited to try and make this deck at least Tier-2 level.

Somebody suggested to try out Land Tax. On paper it looks like a decent ramp, and white opens up KoTR as well. Aggressive Mining can help to reduce our own land count to get those basics to hand, and then launch Seismic Assault, or try a Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle wincon.

I shall test the GRw version and see how it goes.

So far I see one problem with the deck: I mill my own permanents (they are ~all enchantments) to my own graveyard, and often I want them in play. I need options (preferably through the wishboard) to bring them back.
