The most annoying strategies are always the best strategies, which is why I decided to make this gain and drain deck! There's been a lot of changes since my initial version of this deck, and the changes seem to have made it much more consistent and draining.

Card Breakdown

As much as I would love to have Sorin, Grim Nemesis in the main, he's too off-curve for a somewhat aggro deck. So, he goes into the sideboard for when we get into those grindy type matchups where he can be more useful with providing some card advantage and instant life drain.

Initially, I didn't have Captain's Claws in this deck, but its token producing ability is pretty ideal for a number of reasons. Westvale Abbey   needs sac fodder to transform, which can be provided by Captain's Claws and Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. Combine that with Zulaport Cutthroat, and a Westvale Abbey   Transformation is even more devastating to the opponent. This token producing is also to our advantage with cards like Kalastria Healer. With all of the lifegain going on in this deck, Serene Steward can get us some incredibly beefy creatures, especially if we have multiple Drana's Emissarys out on the board, or multiple transformed Accursed Witch  es.
