Fire + Death = Hell.

Welcome everyone to my Death Shadow Kiln Fiend Combo deck, which I hope to buy as my first modern deck.

The deck's game plan is fairly straightforward: We look to cast Kiln Fiend early and take advantage of its ability (which is insanely powerful in a balls-to-the-wall style aggro/combo deck like this one) in order to pump it to at least 6 attack, then use Tainted Strike to finish off the opponent in one turn.

The deck's secondary win-con is casting a large Death's Shadow, which is achievable due to the mana base (more about that later) and the phyrexian mana spells. Unfortunately, the banning of Gitaxian Probe leaves us with less options, but in lieu of that we have standard hand-control spells like inquision of kozilek and Duress (which might be replaced by Thoughtseize, further testing required).

Also, I'm looking if there are any better alternatives to Nivix Cyclops, so please feel free to suggest any. I have already looked at Wee Dragonauts and Nivmagus Elemental, I'm maybe considering dragonauts, but that often adds a full spell more to cast in order to get it to 10 + infect, so I'm not sure.

EDIT: Nivix Cyclops is out. replaced with 2x Fatal Push and an extra land

As you can tell, I am a fairly budget player, but that's ok because the secondary win condition, which is casting a high-power Death's Shadow, is achievable even with pain lands and Mana Confluence + equivalents.

Comments and suggestions are always appreciated and needed, as I would like to fine-tune this deck as much as possible before I make the purchase in paper.

Thanks everyone, and feel free to upvote if you liked the deck.

P.S. The maybeboard is a possible mana base once I decide to buy dual and shock lands.

Updates Add

This deck underwent a major renovation in which it became more ultra-aggro and combo focused. The non-Kiln Fiend creatures have been expanded to Death's Shadow and Young Pyromancer, as when played in the right situation (pyromancer early, shadow late game) they provide immense value.

Kindly ignore comments before Jan 10, 2017 as they are no longer relevant to the current deck.
