Sideboard

Maybeboard

Working from the R/G Ponza model, the strategy for this deck is to deploy the ramp engine Arbor Elf + Utopia Sprawl , and result in some explosive angel nonsense. There's some non-budget stuff going on here, but this deck is pretty kitchen-table.

Ramp is essential to the deck, so there's a lot of it. If your opening hand doesn't contain a mana dork, don't keep it. A turn two Somberwald Sage is also extremely effective for the strategy, but more susceptible to removal.

From there the deck can go ham. A turn three Iona, Shield of Emeria is possible, but uncommon. Also, on top of having an army of big, scary flyers, angels also come with effective built-in hate for many deck strategies. Cards like Sigarda, Host of Herons, Angel of Jubilation, and Archangel of Tithes can throw a wrench in the works of your opponent’s plan.

All in all, it's just really fun to play a host of angels on your side of the board. The strategy can be fragile, and removal spells of all sorts give it a pretty hard time. But when this baby works, it’s a blast.
