Clairvoyance Discussion

Yo Mj3913, it's been awhile since I seen an Isperia deck. Here are some cards you can definitely consider adding!

You also have Capsize and Medomai the Ageless in your maybe board, i would definitely run those two cards in as it nets you value as well as a constant bounce effect which is always great to have!

Chain of Vapor is also pretty good in a deck like this. also Clairvoyance is a peek with a delayed draw, could never have too much info.

Hey I'm replying to your comment on my deck I'm Blue. My first question is, are you a 1 v. 1 EDH player? I noticed you are trying to lower your CMC and that may simply suit Talrand, but I also wondered if that is just a symptom of 1 v 1 mentality. I'm not sure.

One reason I hesitate to run more cantrips is that that is pretty much all they do, draw me a card and create a 2/2, along with a small ability. Personally, I love those types of cards. Ponder is one of the most lovely card designs I've seen (art too). I'd love to play more like it. Whispers of the Muse, Quicken (which I am seriously considering since it would allow me to toss out one of my 11 sorceries if I don't have Vedalken Orrery), Clairvoyance, Sapphire Charm etc. These are cards I'd love to add, and even non-cantrip U cost cards like Spy Network, Retraced Image seem fun to me. That is because I like cheap spells that do something neat. And with Talrand, each of these also throws a 2/2 drake out there.

I wondered if in a multiplayer game, with all these cheap and comparatively weak spells, won't it fizzle out and eventually lose in the long game. If the idea of Talrand is to rush down opponents, then I might understand that more. But I haven't understood it to be that way unless it's 1v1, which is not what I'm going for.

Leyline of Anticipation is out of my budget, and I already had Vedalken Orrery.

Eventually I think Misdirection would be a card I'd get. I thought about Turn Aside, but I for the same reasons listed earlier, I didn't want a bunch of cheap spells that don't do much, in this case, it wouldn't even cantrip. But without Talrand out there, the deck is dead, so, maybe Turn Aside would be worth running until I get Misdirection.

That is one reason to play more powerful spells. Some of the high CMC spells are for the purpose of keeping me in the game even if I struggle to keep Talrand out there.

Runechanter's Pike should be in there. I don't have one yet. I don't usually run equipment unless it really helps the deck, but being able to attach that to any of the drakes is pretty nice.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll copy this and post it to my deck as well.

love blue red decks :D

I have some fav cards like Arcanis the Omnipotent and Day's Undoing for big draw power, other than those I would normally stack the deck with cantrips like Repeal and Clairvoyance, if you have solely 1 drop cantrips it means you get to keep drawing cards so you can make consistent land drops, then when your commander is out every bit of mana is a point of damage

I have a few friends that play cedh and I wanted to know how I could turn my Isperia deck into comp, but they shot me down on how Isperia isn't a reliable tutor or she is too slow or there are many better Azorius commanders. Cards like these have really helped and I have beaten their $3000 decks with my $100 pile of Isperia fun stuff. Like I chose to go Angels semi-tribal, but I have a lot of angel cards I won't throw in for value reasons. Stuff like Serra Avenger and Serra Angel seem to have no place, but tutoring for them and/or playing them helps me by giving me blockers and more options and time to think.

Also, consider Prahv, Spires of Order instead of Azorius Guildgate, which wastes a turn doing nothing while this can give you a colorless since you already have a ton of U/W giving lands and artifacts.

Archon of Redemption is really good and i hope that you try to find space for it. Insane life gain here.

AND HERE IS MY BIG FINISH

Wandering Eye-you have to reveal what you tutor anyway.

By color:

- Silence. I love this card but paired with aforementioned Isochron Scepter it really makes people mad.

- Clairvoyance. This is a gem in the rough imo. Replaces itself and allows you to look at someone's hand and get prepared for what they have in store.

- Hero's Downfall. Creature or PW removal that has never let me down. Deals with those near ult Ugins or Tamiyos.

- Chain Reaction. This card is another that has rarely ever resolved and I was disappointed. Watching Token builds completely cave in on themselves is hilarious.

- Reclaim. A deck without Reclaim, imo, is doing something wrong. This is cheap and effective if no other recursion options are available or your playing a Mono color with little to no options in the first place.

Land- Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx because Devotion and shit!
