Only those who have fled to the woods remain.

Innistrad: The Last of Us

The Eldrazi descend upon the world, consuming everything they touch. Sorin is nowhere to be seen, no Planeswalkers rally the remaining pockets of humans huddled in the woods. It is clear now that those who wish to survive must stand and fight on their own. Thalia and Odric, once of two differing factions must work together with those who know each and every stick and groove in thickest reach of the forest, driving away those who would turn their homes to ash. Most have already fallenthey cannot rely on help. As far as they know, they are the last.

A Standard deck I am developing for FNM and an upcoming Grand Prix. I have been testing this against Bant Company decks (including the newest iteration that dominated the Star City Games tournament last week) as well as some other popular decks around here similar to what I have encountered. This deck is designed to hit hard and fast, overwhelming an opponent before they have the time to stabilize.

What this deck definitely could use is some help with configuring the sideboard. Other helpful suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Here's an explanation of what goes on with this deck:

Notable Pieces:

Eldritch Evolution + Servant of the Scale: Eldritch Evolution is a great card for upgrading from one creature to a better one. Using Servant of the Scale as a means to upgrade to a preferred three mana creature (probably Thalia) also distributes its counters elsewhere, taking some utility from the sacrificed creature.

Hamlet Captain: This card is just ridiculous with Humans. I have found time and time again in simulations and in my recent forays in limited that this card makes the difference at the end of the day. Especially with this deck, which is working towards spamming a rush of humans as quickly as possible. He's especially good for Lone Rider.

Lone Rider  : This card is insane and people just don't know it yet. It is not hard to ensure you gain three or more life and getting this guy flipped over makes him a much more dangerous threat. Not to mention, his keywords pair nicely with Odric.

Arashin Foremost: She's no lightweight. Grants another warrior (half, if not more, of the humans in this deck) double strike the turn she drops and is a double striker herself. Odric loves this gal.

Veteran Cathar: Because I don't believe in just relying on a pair of 3 drop double strikers to turn up, I also have a 2 drop creature that can give anyone else that double strike feature. Odric gets on well with this guy too. And if you got more than one, feed the evolution to drop Odric onto the field.

Thalia, Heretic Cathar: What can I say, this lady is just wonderful. She slows down the other side and allows you to run over the opponent before they can get their bearings. Creatures and nonbasic lands (the most popular kind of land I might add ;) ) come into play tapped. At worst, she becomes a target for removal that won't be hitting other creatures later. At her best, she is slowing the tempo and giving first strike to everyone else once Odric shows up.

Odric, Lunarch Marshal: This guy is truly the Marshall of our weary band. He's leading the charge and showing the rest of these humans how to get things done. Granting keywords to everyone is just too good. With all the double strike found here (in addition to some trample and lifelink), Odric cleans up things quickly.

Duskwatch Recruiter  : 2 drop 2/2 who allows me to dig for creatures. If he flips, he makes casting humans faster and easier.

Might of the Masses: This card has saved my bacon more than a few times. A great way to hurt an opponent that let the smallest creature get through to do damage while blocking it's six buddies- well, now that creature just got a big boost. Really wicked with a flipped Lone Rider too.

Expedition Envoy: It's a vanilla creature, but it's a vanilla 1 drop with a power of 2 that I can use to start doing early damage and then either sac it or pump it later.

Thalia's Lieutenant: This card is good. Drop on turn three or four after filling the field with some humans and now they are all bigger. Drop more humans later and he too gets ridiculous. Combos nicely with the sideboard card eerie interlude (especially if you have 2 or more in there).

Sideboard:

Eerie Interlude: One of my possible solutions for dealing with that blasted Languish--in response to the boardwipe, I'll just flicker everyone out. Also plays well with Thalia's Lieutenant.

Other sideboard cards as of now are based on possible utility. This is an area I really need to work on beefing up and would LOVE feedback.
