After several failed attempts at a budget EDH deck, I decided that instead of sticking to a theme, I should just try to make the game as chaotic as possible. My mind immediately jumped to an Izzet deck, and I found Tibor and Lumia, which really just has "Utter Chaos'' printed on the card. I got a couple cards together, but I than realized that I have no experience with this color combination! Now I need help with this deck. My vision right now is just a deck that will make the game really chaotic, with the win conditions being some infinite combos. I am running your standard run of the mill combos, such as Krenko, Mob Boss + Intruder Alarm, Djinn Illuminatus + Pact of the Titan + Burst of Speed, and Koth of the Hammer + Aphetto Alchemist + Illusionist's Bracers. I want this deck to stay relatively cheap, fun to play with, and be able to hold it's own. Basically, I want to play wacky cards, (Lookin' at you, Scrambleverse) and win with an infinite combo, but do so without looking stupid, and I need to pack a solid suite of counterspells, because let's face it, I can't just play really funny cards. I know this was long, but I hope you guys understand my situation.

Here's how I built them: MagicalHacker - Tibor and Lumia

If you want chaos, this deck has a lot of chaos, so feel free to take more chaos for your izzet deck: MagicalHacker - Zedruu the Greathearted

As for infinite combos, I don't know if that the best thing, but if it is, I'd say to use a bunch of 2-3 card combos, and not worry about any of the ones that have 4+ pieces needed. At that point, the combo becomes way too inconsistent.

Speaking of consistency, tutors are great for when you need that last piece: MagicalHacker - List of All Tutors

Hope I've helped!

Playing for example, Possibility Storm can be really funny if your only two planeswalkers are Tibalt and Ugin. ;) If you play lots of chaos effects, I highly recommend lots of mana rocks. More than just Sol Ring and Gilded Lotus. Run everything. The more mana you have after permanents are theoretically exchanged with cards like Warp World, the more raw number of cards you can be casting in general.

As for another infinite combo in Izzet, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind enchanted with Curiosity. With Intruder Alarm, I mean hell. What isn't an infinite combo? XD Whatever taps to put a creature into play is GG. Long-Term Plans and Gamble can help you get some combo pieces.

The combos I listed are the only combos in my deck thus far. Niv-Mizzet is a glass cannon, because I can mill myself, and if I don't kill my opponents, I die. Possibility Storm sounds hysterical and will actually help me dig into my deck for combo pieces. I actually can't believe I didn't think of Warp World. As for other win cons, what can I do in these colors? I know infinite combos can be unfun at times, so hopefully there's something else here.

Well yeah.

  1. Mycosynth Lattice + Vandalblast
  2. Young Pyromancer and Talrand, Sky Summoner as just win-cons via token generation.
  3. Stuffy Doll + Harvest Pyre
  4. Forced Fruition (doesn't effect you), and then some way to damage them for drawing cards. Having to draw 7 cards for every spell you cast actually sets a pretty solid remaining spell count on a player's deck. With only perhaps 50 cards left in deck, they've got about 6 to 7 more spells to cast and then they're done. Game over. If you can keep them off a winning game-state and force them to cast spells, then counter them, this card can end the game.
  5. Stormtide Leviathan - This is the last thing anyone should scoff at. Stormtide has a big booty, a big unblockable booty. Stops grounded decks immediately on impact.
  6. Isochron Scepter and Elite Arcanist can have some hilarious shenanigans. How about a Turnabout attached to an Elite Arcanist? :P How about a Counterspell attached to Isochron Scepter?
  7. Mind Over Matter + Arcanis the Omnipotent to draw your whole deck, then untap lands and Arcanis to start replacing draws with Words of War. Eventually discard a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth to shuffle your graveyard into your library, draw your whole deck again, rinse and repeat.
  8. Pyromancer's Goggles is going to ridiculously fun in your deck. How about two copies of Warp World on the stack? Or just play Hive Mind and get one copy from each player. Goggles is pretty good when it comes to copying Firemind's Foresight, and draw spells like Thoughtflare.
  9. Deadeye Navigator + Archaeomancer + Any extra turn spell = infinite turns.
  10. Make sure to run infinite hand size too. Reliquary Tower and Venser's Journal are your friends.
  11. Gotta run Counterflux among your counterspell arsenal.
  12. Of course, Storm Crow should be at least a 2-of in your EDH deck.

Firemind's Foresight

Tutor for Lightning Bolt, Reset and Reiterate.

Pass turn, cast Reset, cast Reiterate using buyback as many times as you want. Then cast Lightning Bolt, copy it with Reiterate until everyone is dead.

also -Logician those are all great suggestions. I think I'll use those and make my own spin on chaos. :D

Holy crap that is a lot of combos. Let's not forget repeatable creature stealing effects for Dragonshift

One thing I discovered while goldfishing my prototype Melek deck was that if you have Reiterate and Mana Geyser while Goblinslide is on the board you end up with infinite hasty goblins.

Another hilarious card is Epic Experiment. If you have infinite mana that will let you cast every instant and sorcery in your library for free. So that's pretty awesome.
