The idea:
WotC printed Gleeful Demolition, which works wonders with indestructible artifact lands, and acts as playset 2 of Kuldotha Rebirth.
So current state of meta justifies running said cards following ways:

  • No one runs boardwipes. Single target removal is supreme terrible against token generation.
  • Extreme low cost and nature as non-creature spell means that it dodges Subtlety & Stern Scolding
  • Tokens invalidate Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer
  • Tokens are very effective at threatening walkers
  • Gleeful demolition can act as removal against problem artifact, like Agatha's Soul Cauldron

Then WotC continued printing busted stuff like Demand Answers helping the deck - and ofc. its a common, so it stays cheap.
...for the uninitiated, this is an instant, so you can bait coutnerspell on end of opponent's turn.
If it gets countered, we still get re-draw if we sacrificed an artifact as casting cost.
Late(-ish) game it turns (artifact) land drops into card draws.

Since Kuldotha Rebirth necessitates sacrificing artifact, i decided to go with artifact cantrips - which also means we can run the most insane "deals damage to any target" spell in the format, Shrapnel Blast.
And i intended to use 1 cmc burn spells for 1st turn removal, as they become a reliable win condition when paired with shrapnel blast.
Finally to get around a copy of Shrapnel blast getting exiled with Experimental Synthesizer or discarded by Bedlam Reveler a copy of Retributive Wand is included.

...and a month after creating the deck i was inspired by M_Hayashi's work. And since deck was mono red at the time decided to copy his land destruction package, that was made out of Field of Ruin, Demolition Field and Cleansing Wildfire.
I know i doesn't seem like much.
I could also imagine a format, where it would be worthless. BUT! In current metagame most people are running 0-4 basic lands.
