Grixis gives Twin much needed removal for problem creatures your opponents may have. You can Kolaghan's Command + Lightning Bolt + Snapcaster Mage them out of the game off pure value damage in long games while also playing to the combo finish

Snapcaster Mage + Splinter Twin is really good in a pinch if you don't think you're going to be able to combo kill them anytime soon.

Post sideboard, we previously would side out the entire combo often to make the Tasigur game better. With the light black splash, we get all the good of straight UR twin's consistency at comboing, while also not immediately losing if we fall behind. Creatures like Tarmogoyf and Siege Rhino are now able to be beaten easier upon resolution with the additions of Murderous Cut + Terminate .
