The deck can mill pretty fast, I'm tuning it to see which approach is best (Controlish-Aggroish).

It is decently competitive, and a lot of fun.

Fragmentize-Disenchant for Blood Moons, Leylines and stuff like that. 2/2 split to potentially avoid a Chalice of the Void in 1 locking me out of answers.

Hide-Seek is the answer I wanted for Emrakul! Pick it out of the deck pro actively, for less than infinite obliteration, AND gain 15 life as a bonus! 2 for the sideboard for sure. The extra Crypt Incursions are because that's the card that let's you live long enough against aggro decks (and even some mid range ones) I like Ghostly Prison better than Ensnaring Bridge for the sinergy with Orb, but Bridge can be a lot better against decks like Grixis Death Shadow. Just extirpate the Kolaghan's Command and lay bridge down. Surgical Extraction vs Extirpate is another shifting decision. Being able to extract for 2 life is great, but not having to worry about counterspells or any interaction is great as well. Since our life total gets heavy hits from the fetches, I've been running Extirpate over Surgical, but it's a close call.

I have a lot of fun playing a less competitive version of the deck with Manic Scribes instead of Crabs and creatures like Wight of Precint Six and Jace's phantasm and Ashiok/Jace to hit delirium faster, if you want that decklist I can upload it.

Fraying Sanity from HOU is a card that definitely can change a lot in the deck. Once it's released I'll playtest different builds and we'll see exactly how good Mill can get.

Latest version has been doing great, put in thought scour for the initial turn/spare mana, having cantrips makes all the difference in the world. Extirpates and Prisons go back to the sideboard, and a couple of Breaking//Entering have been making my games more consistent.

You definitely can do it, assuming Emrakul wasn't in the bottom quarter of the deck let's say. You have 13x4, 10x4, avg11x4, + crabs and Orbs, that's a lot of milling potential, lol

THE Emrakul answer is Hide/Seek.Proactively remove it from the deck, AND win 15 life.2 or 3 in the sideboard makes all the difference.

Oh man, nice find! And those decks that run emrakul only run 1 copy anyway right? And instant speed to boot!

Hi! I've playtested a lot with Fraying Sanity! You could read my notes on it in my primer on this site!

you have to remember that surgical extraction can hit lands in the gy, this is very good for the tron land and valakut decks.

Oh, of course I'm aware of that! So does Extirpate, and that's the main plan against them g2.I used to play 4 extraction spells (2 Surgical - 2 Extirpate) maindeck, but I've switched to Crypt Incursions maindeck, they are more frequently helpful (and it was hard to admit, I value the hand and deck information of extraction spells a lot)

That said, when Fraying Sanity is oficially released, I think some maindeck extraction could be played, since some mill spells will be best saved for the t4 kill, leaving room for discard/extraction/removal/counter disruption.

there is a few storm players at my lgs, turn 0 archive trap into 2 surgicals to snag past in flames and gifts ungiven is just to good thats mostly why i run surgicals being able to stop shenanigans on turn 0 is just to good.

Haha, yeah, feels so good when it works smoothly. Even without Archive traps turn 0, the 6 cards from crab + fetch t2 mill and then extract a tron piece or a win condition is great.

But I've also had moments where Snapcaster and other graveyard hate removed the target I was aiming at, or when they countered it, and that made me like Extirpate better. And against redundant decks, you're really putting yourself at a disadvantage unless you hit copies in their hand.

The upside of phyrexian mana from surgical is difficult to use with the Esper fetch intensive Mana base where I'm regularly delivering around 9 points of damage to myself. Crypt incursion has been very important, and in a lot of matchups it's just gg.

I'm not saying it's set on stone or anything, as I said, I used to run 4 maindeck, then dropped to 2, and now I have all 4 in the sideboard in favor of 3 Crypt Incursions main.Surgical/Extirpate definitely have a place as at least 4 of in the 75. Maindeck or sideboard is probably up to each player taste and meta.

Archive Trap + Path to Exile combo is beautiful. Never thought of that before, Thanks.

Settle the Wreckage would make a fine addition to your deck.

Help me understand how Extirpate will help you in the event of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn hitting the grave? Once he hits, the triggered ability goes off even if you Extirpate him. Emrakul will be gone, but you'll have to mill the library all over again. Can this deck do that? I'm not trying to say it can't, but milling is a tough win as it is, never mind having to restart. The only thing I can think of that would pro-actively get rid of Emrakul is Infinite Obliteration, but it's three times the CMC, and sorcery speed.
