Vraska's Fall
Instant
Each opponent sacrifices a creature or planeswalker and gets a poison counter.

I think that the Sword of Truth and Justice is the better add over Vraska's Fall, and if you don't mind i'd like to walk through my logic on this and get your opinion. Hope you don't mind. Vraska's Fall has the big benefit of getting poison counters on players - but the edict effect becomes less beneficial as the game continues and It costs more than other similar spells (e.g. Infectious Bite and Prologue to Phyresis. The Sword of Truth and Justice requires more set up - it requires a creature on board and an extra for the equip cost. The payoff however can be significant at any point of the game. It further enhances Infect creatures but more importantly provides an additional source of +1/+1 counters. Without the sword only 2 cards in the deck can create +1/+1 counters.
On the subject of +1/+1 counters, should I try and find a spot for Ozolith, the Shattered Spire? It only has partial synergy with the deck, being only dedicated to +1/+1 counters, but it can make infect creatures lethal. What do you think?

Im currently thinking of trying to make room for Sword of Truth and Justice. Do you think cutting Vraska's Fall would be worthwhile?

Arachnophobia, Webs of Fear (Shelob)

I'm really glad to see your interest, and I'm happy to share my experiences and ideas here. The deck works quite well overall, so making major changes is difficult. After our last test night, I made a few adjustments and added some new cards. However, I couldn’t include everything—mostly because I honestly don’t know what to cut yet. I’ll need to play a few more games against different opponents to better identify underperforming cards.
To start, I swapped out Sentinel Spider for Skysnare Spider. Both are dear to me, but Skysnare offers better overall value. I also added Deathsprout—more removal improves defense, and fetching an extra land boosts mana ramp for my bigger spiders.
With a heavy heart, I removed Arachnus Spinner and Arachnus Web. They're fantastic for flavor, but the Web isn’t very effective, and together they take up two valuable slots.
I’ve also expanded Vraska’s influence in the deck—she now takes a place on the battlefield herself. Vraska, the Silencer brings deathtouch, shrinks the opponent’s graveyard, and generates treasures to help with ramp. As for Vraska and the slight snake theme in the deck—although I was hesitant at first, I’ve grown to like it. I can easily imagine Vraska or even Saryth working alongside spiders.
Flavor-wise, the next card might be pushing it a bit, but mechanically Greta, Sweettooth Scourge fits the deck very well. She interacts nicely with Food tokens, improves card draw, and buffs spiders.
Lastly, I added Revitalizing Repast Flip. I couldn’t resist such a solid card—it protects Shelob or other key creatures, provides a buff, and can even support ramp.
To make room, I cut Aquastrand Spider and Scavenging Ooze. The Ooze is strong, but off-theme and not essential here.
As the final touch, I included The Swarmweaver. More tokens and spider buffs are always welcome. I removed Wilt in its place—a good card, but situational, even if it can replace itself.
In the waiting album I’ve got Broodspinner, Nyx Weaver, Graverobber Spider, Attendant of Vraska, Vraska's Fall, Back for More, You Look Upon the Tarrasque, Cairn Wanderer, and Graveshifter. Time will tell if any of them will find a home in the nest.

Some thoughts:
-
Generally a deck wants either countermagic or hand-disruption, not normally both - as it creates a weird jumble of tempo and mismatched-plans. This is why you'll see basically no control decks running hand disruption. In that vein i'd suggest removing the Thoughtseize.
-
A lot of cards in your deck are just not good. Specifically, instead of running Anoint with Affliction, Corrupted Resolve, Serum Snare, Reject Imperfection, or Fuel for the Cause, you're better off just running good-cards like Counterspell, Fatal Push, and Drown in the Loch.
-
Similarly, Infectious Inquiry being sorcery speed makes it really terrible and unplayable. Same goes for Vivisurgeon's Insight and Phyrexian Arena. These cards are all just too clumsy, don't do enough, and give your opponent the opportunity to do things.
-
I think your creatures validate your opponents interaction too much and also mess with your own plan to control the game.
-
The sideboard choices confuse me.
If I were trying to build a deck like this, I'd be using the following as a base:
- 23x Lands
- 3x Virulent Wound
- 4x Prologue to Phyresis
- 4x Vraska's Fall
- 4x Drown in Ichor
- 1x Inexorable Tide
- 2x Damnation
- 2x Cling to Dust
- 3x Fatal Push
- 4x Counterspell
- 4x Drown in the Loch
- 2x Sheoldred's Edict
- 4x Preordain

Phyrexia: All is One (ONE) had three particular cards in it that effectively created a new archetype. An archetype that I have been trying to make work since the original Scars of Mirrodin block: Infect Control. However, the creature-centric nature of the poison counter mechanic made the idea effectively impossible. That is, until the cards:
I have seen lists with these three cards on mtgtop8 in Pauper, Standard, and Pioneer. I took what I saw and brewed my own Pauper deck and a Standard deck (that now needs to be turned into a Pioneer deck)...
But those aren't the subject of this help thread.
Right now I would like help perfecting the Modern variant that I have recently brewed in my free time, but otherwise haven't had the time/money to go out into the wild to properly test it out..

The nontoken clause is really only being used once or twice a set at the most, because edicts are, in general, the weakest form of removal. The strongest edict without that clause was Liliana of the Veil, and she was only in control or midrange shells that were designed to kill everything and strip the opponent of resources. These same sets have had Extract a Confession which is sorcery and requires evidence to be the stronger version, Zoyowa Lava-Tongue, Tithing Blade Flip,Vraska's Fall, Voracious Fell Beast, Pyretic Prankster Flip, and Braids, Arisen Nightmare.
If they absolutely have to make free spells, I'm glad they have a real cost so you can't Flare turn 1 off a Khalni Garden or get a free spell with any of the long list of Young Pyromancer effects.

Crow_Umbra I mean, it looks fine to me, but just by looking at it you could swap out Vraska's Fall for something like Abyssal Gatekeeper, I know why Vraskas fall is there though. Most of the cards I would suggest are already in your sideboard, except for some like Cranial Plating.

You always want to aim towards having a 60 card deck - as you’re 6 cards over at the moment i’d suggest ditching Inexorable Tide (way too slow) and Serum Snare (it just feels very slow/clumsy).
I would also opt for playing Vraska's Fall over Corrupted Resolve, just as I see your deck having issues reliably being able to leave mana up for countering stuff
