Mirror of Fate Discussion

Built and love this deck. Just laced in Karn's Temporal Sundering to make turn looping and bouncing cards even easier. And Mirror of Fate even pulls it back from exile for me.

Throwing it out there for you all to share in the trollage.

They have done the reverse, using counters to link two abilities so that different instances can reference it, such as Mairsil, the Pretender or Karn, Scion of Urza. They've also made cards that reference any exiled card, such as Wasteland Strangler or Mirror of Fate. Having an open ended card that would only care about cards it exiled, but not how they were exiled, would probably require the rules to be rewritten, and as such would have to be a major mechanic of a set.

Mirror of Fate saves you Angel of Glory's Rise sacrifice iterations. One recursion iteration can reanimate both Mirror and Mind Spring, which in turn adds 7 exiled cards to your hand.

In comparison, with Pull from Eternity each returned permanent requires two sacrifice iterations, one to recur cast Pull and one to recur the pulled card from the graveyard.

In addition, forcing your opponents to recur exiled cards is easier with Mirror of Fate because you don't have to rely on Hive Mind. Relying on Hive Mind requires repeatedly countering things.

But the real reason is that I just like Mirror of Fate.

Nice! I have a 60-card deck that's taking a similar idea to this one, starting with a Worldgorger combo for infinite mana. I may try my own EDH version someday.

Also, have you ever considered using Pull from Eternity? It's been easier for me to use than Mirror of Fate via simplicity.

Hate to break it to you but there's no way to get cage counters on cards exiled with Mirror of Fate so the card with Mairsil is a nonbo. Sorry!

Pull from Eternity gives you some options when swords hitMirror of Fate is similar, but dodgierPsychic Spiral is potentially lethal when maniac is gone

Wheel and Deal looks dodgyCrib Swap and Afterlife are higher cmc versions of Pongify

I want to tell you to run this too: Approach of the Second Sun

No it's a trigger at the end step. Norin will stay in exile forever unless you have a way to get him back like Riftsweeper or Mirror of Fate
