A card with a similar effect to Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor is Combat Calligrapher. Though you can balance the drawback a bit by adding Blood Seeker to your deck.
Other cards I think may work the way yer looking for are Bloodvial Purveyor and Jolene, the Plunder Queen.
There's also the "Vow of..." cycle. The ones relevant to your deck are:: Vow of Duty, Vow of Lightning, Vow of Malice, Vow of Torment, and Vow of Wildness. Another Aura that works like that is Spectral Grasp.
Also, if you really wanna have some fun, there's also Jinxed Choker, Jinxed Idol, Jinxed Ring and Sleeper Agent. And don't forget the Demonic Pact+Harmless Offering combo!
I hope this helps. Thank you for reading me out. Happy Hunting!

I think this sort of modulation of magic is super fun and want you to keep doing it. Having said that, do you need the randomness? With a few bad die rolls one person could feel pretty put out, and there are a ton of Armageddon Clock cards that you can mess around with (everyone starts with one in play, or, there’s a semi-emblem one in play that can’t be removed... or whatever). Now for my sales pitch: you may really enjoy putting some of this stuff in your decks. I think the most understandable hate for cards like Jinxed Choker, Copper Tablet, and Rug of Smothering comes from when they’re accompanied to some degree by a total spell or land lock-out. My “Torture!” And “Haunted House!” decks both have a ton of these incremental cards, which shorten the game without actually PREVENTING anyone from casting their spells or drawing cards. Be the change you want to see in the world! Throw a Havoc Festival for everyone! Hand out some Jinxed Rings for Halloween! Mulligan repeatedly until you have Ankh of Mishra in your opening hand each game... okay well don’t do that one... but you know what I mean. Take this as a challenge to build a fun weird deck! There is a TON out there.

My main man Vilis!
Consider the following: Dark Confidant, Dark Tutelage, Black Market Connections, Ulcerate, Devour in Shadow, Feed the Swarm, Cruel Tutor, Plunge into Darkness, Blood Celebrant, Sign in Blood & Jinxed Ring.
Happy brewing!
FormOverFunction on Help Make My Mono Black …

Tortured Existence is super useful in this case, especially with the desecrated tomb. I’ve already forgotten your list, but do you have Sadistic Hypnotist in there? If you’re mono-Black the casting cost isn’t too bad, and the side benefit of discard is pretty great. Nether Shadow can make graveyard management irritating, but can be really great if you get your engine running. Jinxed Ring might be hilarious as a sac outlet; its downside would be limited for you, and your opponents would either have to give you another sac outlet back or soak the damage for a few turns. Could be fun. Cellar Door is often thought of as something to use on your opponents, but if you’ve got a lot of creatures in your deck, and you want selective access to them in your graveyard, this might be a good way to filter through them (while getting some free zombies too!). If you haven’t noticed, I’m mostly looking at my Haunted House deck for these recommendations. My decks have a lot of weird random junk, so feel free to poke around in there for other weird options! Good luck, the deck looks really fun!!

(cont.) Being able to sacrifice creatures at no cost is vital for setting up and running the combo. Any one of these works as a sac outlet, though some are a bit tricky to use correctly:
Betrothed of Fire
Goblin Bombardment
Spawning Pit
Altar of Dementia
Jinxed Idol
Jinxed Ring
Blasting Station
Fanatical Devotion
Grafted Wargear
Ashnod's Altar
Phyrexian Altar
Martyr's Cause
Tooth and Claw

I’d consider cards like Jinxed Choker and Jinxed Ring, to add more passing and mathing!

Jinxed Choker and Jinxed Ring are fun. It seems like I draw at least one of them every time I play my haunted house deck, and they generate some fun...interpersonal scenarios ;p

Shapeshifter's Ring
Artifact - Equipment
: Equipped creature loses all creature types and becomes the creature type of your choice.
: Until end of turn, equipped creature gets +1/-1 or -1/+1. If this is your second time activating this ability this turn, it costs less to activate.
Equip
Make another ring of some kind (keep it PG!). It doesn't have to be an equipment (like Jinxed Ring, Aladdin's Ring, Ring of Three Wishes) but rings for the hands of your creatures makes sense in this game (see Ring of Evos Isle, Ring of Kalonia, Ring of Thune, etc.). Also, get more creative than just porting over rings from Lord of the Rings.
