Cellar Door

Artifact

, : Target player puts the bottom card of their library into their graveyard. If it's a creature card, you create a 2/2 black Zombie creature token.

FormOverFunction on Help Make My Mono Black …

Tortured Existence is super useful in this case, especially with the desecrated tomb. I’ve already forgotten your list, but do you have Sadistic Hypnotist in there? If you’re mono-Black the casting cost isn’t too bad, and the side benefit of discard is pretty great. Nether Shadow can make graveyard management irritating, but can be really great if you get your engine running. Jinxed Ring might be hilarious as a sac outlet; its downside would be limited for you, and your opponents would either have to give you another sac outlet back or soak the damage for a few turns. Could be fun. Cellar Door is often thought of as something to use on your opponents, but if you’ve got a lot of creatures in your deck, and you want selective access to them in your graveyard, this might be a good way to filter through them (while getting some free zombies too!). If you haven’t noticed, I’m mostly looking at my Haunted House deck for these recommendations. My decks have a lot of weird random junk, so feel free to poke around in there for other weird options! Good luck, the deck looks really fun!!

Tavern Cellar

Artifact

, : Each player exiles the bottom card of their library and gains life equal to that cards mana cost. For each card exiled this way, create a food token if its a creature then its owner may put that card into their hand.

There's always room for one more

My attempt at creating Cellar Door if it was printed in a set like Forgotten Realms.

Create another version of a card if it was printed in a different set. (That could still be on the same plane if its something like Tarkir or Lorwyn.)

I'll consider it Dangerwillrobinson79. Also another card I considered for this deck was Cellar Door since it paired with Undead Alchemist and Consuming Aberration if I put it in but I don't know how good of a card it is. I also considered putting Erdwal Illuminator to help with getting more clue tokens out for Tamiyo's Journal since I was going to put it in as a possible help for tutoring for certain cards but then again Eloise, Nephalia Sleuth might have it covered

Hey, well done with upgrades to the precon. For being new to Magic you've added some really good cards. Nice stained glass Liliana :)

The Poppet Factory combo with Wilhelt for infinite Zombies with Diregraf Captain as the win condition needs a sac outlet. Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and Ashnod's Altar are good, but only two sac outlets for the combo isn't really enough. Carrion Feeder is a one drop Zombie.

Apprentice Necromancer can reanimate Poppet Stitcher  Flip at instant speed at the end step of your last opponent before your next upkeep. With Wilhelt when you sac Necromancer you create a Zombie token which could be the third token you need to flip into Factory. I'm not positive, but I think if Stitcher flips into Factory than you don't have to sac Factory at the end step Apprentice trigger because it's no longer a creature.

Carrion Feeder and Apprentice Necromancer could replace two of the higher CMC cards here to reduce the mana curve. Ruthless Deathfang and Overseer of the Damned are just not as good as the other 6 or 7 CMC cards namely Liliana, Rooftop, Titan, Dominance even Hex.

There's a few cards in the precon that were cut that you should consider adding back.

Dreadhorde Invasion creates a Zombie token for the cost of only 1 life at your upkeep to give you a constant source of a Zombie to sac with Wilhelt at your end step. Zombie Apocalypse is mass reanimation for Zombies, all Zombies in your graveyard.

Hordewing Skaab gives flying to all Zombies you control and it can also be repeatable loot (draw then discard). Midnight Reaper is another Zombie who draws when it dies as well as can be repeatable draw whenever any nontoken Zombie dies.

Eternal Skylord only gives flying to Zombie tokens, not giving flying to Wilhelt makes it lackluster. Cellar Door will miss more than hit since you don't have a way to control getting a creature to the bottom of your library or your opponents libraries. Paying three mana and having this miss is pretty bad. Cancel is not needed because you have three other much better counterspells.

Good luck with your deck.

Cypher35 on Muldrotha Wincons/Infinite Combos

I've been playing my muldrotha deck for about 2 years now, and here's some of my favorite combos to use

Muldrotha, the Gravetide + Timestream Navigator + Cellar Door to get infinite turns/zombie tokens

Muldrotha, the Gravetide + Mindslaver works best in a 1 v 1 but can be a useful political tool and can help take a player out of the game.

and any other wincon works around cards like Mesmeric Orb , Fraying Sanity (cast on self) Mirror-Mad Phantasm , Altar of Dementia , and one of either Jace, Wielder of Mysteries or Laboratory Maniac ( Thassa's Oracle also works but I haven't gotten my hands on a copy yet so it's not in the deck) and simply works to get as many cards in my graveyard and then win with the Lab/jace.

there's a lot of strategies and EDHREC has a great page dedicated to combos within certain commanders or color archetypes, so I'll link muldrotha's here

hope this helps!

Epicurus on Goblin Pact, the EDH Edition

ItsMorphinTime interesting idea. I focus so much with this deck on the massive token creation power and bombardment with cheap creatures that I underutilize the bottom-card manipulation that exists. I think about it any time I cast Bituminous Blast, but I certainly could play more to that theme. Someone had suggested Cellar Door, and I've yet to acquire one to try it out. Do you know of any other good bottom-deck cards?

Yes to Cellar Door! It's entirely possible that I like it more than I would if it weren't a Donnie Darko reference, but it's definitely going on the maybe board for this deck. It sounds like an even better fit for my Cleverly Named Graveyard Deck.
