Something to pair with Tunnel Vision in blue black?

Commander Deck Help forum

Just got my hands on a Tunnel Vision and can't think of more than one or two ways to tuck something on the bottom of a persons library in blue black. Really I can only think of Hinder and Spell Crumple, but I'd like more than one. Any suggestions for a solid mill deck?

Fateseal does it also; Try Mesmeric Sliver or Spin into Myth.

Fateseal is about your only option. Just remember to have a Tormod's Crypt Ready....

Vendilion Clique seems like a good one too. Especially if your commander is Oona and you're going for some faerie shenanigans apart from mill.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor would be hilarious.

Also, that card is pretty good I heard.

The deck is Phenax. Love the suggestions I had completely forgotten fateseal was a thing. Unfortunately I don't have money to drop on big cards, because I also heard Jace was pretty good.

What? Jace, the Mind Sculptor? Nah, he barely sees play in Modern. He can't be that good :p

Sadistic Sacrament to preemptively get rid of Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and other sources or returning their Graveyard to their Library.

You could always target yourself after scrying and just combo off...

Yep, I've got a friend who does that with Past in Flames. You could abuse it with various cards in those colors. Like, name Rise of the Dark Realms and then... well, that's a ton of dudes all at once!

I was thinking something more same turn. Like having a Narcomoeba in your deck to flashback a Dread Return into an Angel of Glory's Rise with an infinite combo of humans, or something similarly degenerate. That way you can still combo regardless of what your bottom card was.

Here's one you can do with just Blue/Black:

Have two creatures on the field (three if Narcomoeba is somewhere other than your library), and 9 mana open. Cast Tunnel Vision naming your bottom card (whatever it is), and put Dread Return, Necrotic Ooze, Grimgrin, Corpse-Born, Bloodline Keeper  Flip, Havengul Lich, and Blood Artist into your graveyard. Flashback Dread Return to put Necrotic Ooze on the battlefield, then use its ability as Havengul Lich to cast Blood Artist out of your graveyard. After that you just alternate between Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and Bloodline Keeper  Flip's abilities for an infinite sac loop and infinite life drain. GG

Best thing is all of these cards are pretty good on their own even if you're not trying to combo. (Except Narcomoeba, but that's just gravy.)

You could also do the Phenax, God of Deception + Eater of the Dead combo if you were running a Phenax self-mill deck.

Nice! I run a Tunnel Vision in my Mimeo deck (MilleoPlasm). Besides the options mentioned above, Vessel of Endless Rest works, too.

An addendum to that combo:

1) I realized it doesn't quite work same turn since Bloodline Keeper  Flip's is a tap ability, so you'd need to give Necrotic Ooze haste somehow to go off same turn (Lightning Greaves, Thousand-Year Elixir).

(I just thought of 2 ways around this problem: Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, and Death-Mask Duplicant allowing Necrotic Ooze to imprint a creature with haste. Both for 1 mana, yay.)

2) While that kind of puts a damper on the potential, I realized that you can also throw in Cinderhaze Wretch and a creature with a mana ability to get infinite mana out of the combo and cast all your creatures out of the graveyard, since Grimgrin + Bloodline Keeper  Flip puts infinite +1/+1 counters on Necrotic Ooze. This can help if you don't want to wait around for 9 mana.

On Monoblue and Izzet I did this a couple of times:

It's a 9 or 10 mana synergy but very funny to play I think.
